Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Yes, our shop is both heated and air conditioned to maintain the optimal work environment for our technicians.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Presently, our Friendly Service Team consists of our Service Manager, our Parts Manager, 4 service technicians, and 2 service advisors.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Our shop is open 7:30 am to 5:00 pm Mondays through Fridays, and from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays. Our shop is closed Sundays.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Our shop provides all the necessary tire, alignment, A/C, fluid flush machines, carts, lift tables, and the like.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a cozy lunchroom (separate from the Service Bays) with a full-size refrigerator and a microwave.

How many bays does your shop have?

Our shop has 8 bays.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Our shop averages between 575 and 600 ROs per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

All our parts are ordered directly through our Parts Department, which is located inside the shop.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work is allowed at the discretion of management.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We have an on-site Technical Advisor who helps train and assist our technicians. He is a certified Master Tech for both Acura and Honda, and his goal is to help elevate you to the next level in your career.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

It's in our best interest to staff our shop with top-notch technicians. Thus, we provide both on-site and online training so our technicians can reach a higher level technician status.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Each week, we perform an informal one-on-one review of each technicians' hours produced and overall attendance. We also monitor technician training to ensure technicians stay up-to-date.

What type of safety training is required?

We don't have any required safety training, but basic shop safety protocols are reviewed regularly.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

As a Technician, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside our on-staff Acura Master Tech, as well as our Technical Advisor

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We are a regular contributor to local charitable causes. We also sponsor numerous local youth baseball teams and area car shows.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Yes, we provide a mentorship program with the local BOCES school, and our Service Manager is on the Advisory Board for both the local BOCES school and our local Community College.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

At times, we will opt to phone screen candidates prior to interviewing them face-to-face.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Candidates meet with our Service Manager for their interview. We also have our in-house Master Tech and/or our Technical Advisor speak with candidates, so we can get a sense of their overall ability.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes, every candidate is screened before being hired.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

During the interview process, our Service Manager, Technical Advisor, and/or Master Tech will meet with each candidate to get a sense of what level they are at.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

We usually have a response for candidates within 24 to 48 hours.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Our Friendly Team typically responds to candidates the same day we receive their application. So the time the overall process takes can vary and mostly depends on how quickly the candidate can respond and make themselves available to interview. We are always available to do interviews within 24 to 48 hours after contacting the candidate. We then make a hiring decision within 24 to 48 hours thereafter.

Automotive A Level Technician Pay Range: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00/year

Our pay structure is a combination of flat-rate and hourly, along with a bonus pay plan.

Automotive B Level Technician Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00/year

Our pay structure is a combination of flat-rate and hourly, along with a bonus pay plan.
