The shop is heated and can be cooled to stay comfortable year-round.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We have 18 people total on our team, including 7 technicians and 1 shop foreman.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop hours are 7:30am - 5:30pm, Monday-Friday. No weekends! Technician shifts are 8:00am - 5:00pm.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The shop provides specialty tools, scanners, and any that are more expensive to afford.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Our break room has a table chairs, refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven

How many bays does your shop have?

15

How many repair orders do you average per month?

300, with our average RO value being $1200

What is your parts ordering process?

We have a dedicated Parts Department that is responsible for sourcing parts.

What is your policy on side work?

No side work - our goal is to provide enough work for you to earn a very good living.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

Our shop is extremely clean with modern equipment that is frequently updated. Our staff has access to any and all information needed to make quality repairs

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We encourage online and in-person trainings. Our shop pays for the time someone spends in training, and we also cover travel & lodging expenses.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We encourage our staff to take self-development and skill building trainings. Our owner provides training for leadership skills. We always seek to promote from within when possible.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Performance reviews are conducted quarterly. Employees are actively involved in the process, and can provide feedback on areas they excelled in, along with areas for growth.

What type of safety training is required?

We hold quarterly safety meetings.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We have a Shop Foreman and Lead Diagnostic Technician who will assist with training any technicians as needed. We strongly believe no one should be left alone to figure things out.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We always try to give back to our community, and support many local charities. Read more about our work here: https://www.frankseuropeanservice.com/about/charities-we-support/ One charity we support is 1-800-Charity Cars, a nonprofit which provides free donated vehicles to assist struggling families in their transition from dependency to self-sufficiency. We have donated parts and labor to families in need through this program.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We partner with ATI and are always looking to encourage students to enter the profession.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We hope to continue growing! Along with hiring new team members, we hope to soon have multiple shop locations.

Yes, we prefer to phone screen applicants.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

The in-person interview will entail a meeting with the owner and Service Manager, and may last up to 1 hour. There can be up to 3 in-person interviews, with 1 being a working interview. We will provide compensation for the working interview.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $95,000 - $150,000/year

A Level Technicians should be able to diagnose most vehicle systems unassisted, including drivability, noise, and vibration. Compensation based on efficiency and experience

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000/year

B Level Technicians should be able to remove and replace major components unassisted, and be able to do basic diagnosis. Compensation based on efficiency and experience

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000/year

C level Technicians should be able to perform most maintenance services and minor repairs

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $65,000 - $105,000/year

Responsible for establishing relationships, developing trust with motorist, explaining needed services and repairs in an easy-to-understand manner. Compensation includes a generous base pay with bonus dependent on meeting specific sales goals.

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $15 - $22/hour

Student technicians work alongside master technician mentors to learn the right way and best practices on how to service European vehicles.
