What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday - Friday: 7AM-6PM Saturday: 7AM-4PM Sunday: Closed

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The company provides computers/laptop devices and all manufacturer specific tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

The Shop is equipped with a breakroom/restrooms.

How many bays does your shop have?

13 racks and 1 alignment rack

How many repair orders do you average per month?

600-700

What is your parts ordering process?

For warranty work, technicians will request the part from the parts department. For customer pay work, technicians will send the quote to parts, parts will quote it out and send to the advisor, when the advisor gets the approval they will send it to parts to have them order.

What is your policy on side work?

Technicians are approved to work on personal and family member vehicles only.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Technicians work very closely to younger techs with all aspects, technicians know that the quality for the whole shop has to be top notch and that’s how they mentor them. Great team environment. We would rather have the younger techs ask to many questions then not enough questions.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

The Company prides itself on promoting from within and growing our team from the inside-out. The career path for all employees that desire growth in the company is discussed with their direct supervisor. The company will always look at our current team for advancement/promotion before outside hiring.

Can you describe your performance review process?

All employees undergo annual performance reviews in January of each calendar year.

What type of safety training is required?

Required OSHA training.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Technicians work very closely with newer Technicians on all diagnostic and repair aspects. The Company emphasizes that the quality for the whole shop has to be top notch and it starts with teamwork. This expectation drives our Senior Technicians in how they mentor younger Technicians. This also fosters a great team environment. We would rather have the younger techs ask to many questions then not enough questions.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

The Company is heavily involved with several charitable organizations. Our shop has the opportunity to donate time in diagnosing and fixing vehicles that the company donates. More information upon request.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

The Company has personnel on the board of St. Charles east high school automotive program. Additionally, the Company is involved with Wheaton Academy's automotive class. This involvement gives our Company the opportunity to expose and encourage students interested in the Automotive Industry.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

-Increased productivity -Adding more bays/lifts to add to our team -Growth and development for our current Technicians

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Resume and/or Application is required. The application process takes approximately 5-15 minutes.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

During an in-person interview all candidates will meet with the Service Manager, Service Director and General Manager (if available). Interviews are utilized for getting to know the candidate, gauge knowledge, skills and abilities; and to show candidates around the shop.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Pre-employment background checks and drug screens are performed on all candidates that receive job offers from the company.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Skills assessments are not performed. Skill set is gauged during the interview process by a set of skill-set questions.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

24-72 Hours

5-7 Business days depending on completion of the pre-employment screening.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $80,000 - $150,000/year

Journeymen Technician $36.00 - $45.00 Flat Rate + Weekly booking premium pay Sign-on bonus available for the right candidate!!! Manufacturer and skills training paid for by the Company

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $28 - $35/hour

Apprentice Technician $28.00 - $35.00 Hourly Rate Paid per hours clocked + Overtime Manufacturer and skills training paid for by the Company

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $21 - $27/hour

Semi-Skill Technician $21.00 - $27.00 Hourly Rate Paid per hours clocked + Overtime Manufacturer and skills training paid for by the Company

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $18 - $20/hour

Lube Technician $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly Rate Paid per hours clocked + Overtime Manufacturer and skills training paid for by the Company

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $65,000 - $85,000/year
