Under The Hood
Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Our shop is heated and clean with easy access and proper illumination.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
Our team is currently seven technicians strong. Among them is two Ford Senior Master Technicians with nearly 70 years of combined experience.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Our Service Department hours are 7:30am - 6:00pm Monday thru Friday and 8:00am - 3:00pm Saturday. Technicians work Weekdays 8am - 6pm and every other Saturday.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We provide up to date specialty and commonly used tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
We have a climate controlled Service Department break room suitable for meetings, training and group gatherings.
How many bays does your shop have?
Our facility consists of two connected buildings. One is devoted primarily to light duty cars, trucks and SUVs, and the other to Super Duty vehicles. We have 22 bays and 14 lifts, with the ability to lift up to 20,000 lbs.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
Our last twelve month Average Repair Order count is 332.
What is your parts ordering process?
We maintain a parts inventory of nearly $400,000 and acquire parts from warehouses in Kansas City, Denver and Oklahoma City daily. We can fulfill most parts orders in one day.
What is your policy on side work?
We offer discounts to our employees and encourage them to use our shop whenever possible.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We encourage our technicians to take advantage of all available training through Ford Motor Company. For offsite training, we pay for room, food and fuel expense. We also pay $25.00 per hour for classroom time and drive time. For online courses, we pay the technician $25.00 per completed course.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We always strive to promote from within throughout every department. Many of our current management staff began their careers in support roles.
Can you describe your performance review process?
Performance and compensation reviews occur annually.
What type of safety training is required?
We have periodic safety meetings and all of our equipment is inspected annually to ensure the safest possible workspace for our team employees.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We currently have one technician working in an apprentice role, being supervised by our Senior Master Diesel Technician. We also sponsor a student at our local Vo-Tech school.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Our Service Manager sits on an advisory board at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas. We have participated in numerous Career Fairs sponsored by that institution as well.
Where do you see the shop in five years?
Todays economic environment has created opportunities for growth in the Service and Parts Departments. Our plans for growth are only limited by our ability to recruit and grow our team. We feel we have potential in the short term to become a 1,000 hour per month shop, with continued growth beyond that.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, we will begin the interview process either by phone or web meeting.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Most serious candidates will meet with the Service Manager, General Manager, as well as one of our Senior Master Technicians.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
We do perform background checks and drug screening.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
We try to assess the applicant's sill level through the interview process. We also contact any references that can speak to the applicant's skill level and work ethic.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
That depends on the number of applicants being considered. Most positions are filled within 30 days of the initial contact.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
This too depends on the number of applicants being considered, but we strive to complete the process in 30 days.
A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $50,000 - $120,000/year
Our top performing technicians earn in excess of $100,000 annually. We offer the most aggressive compensation packages in our area, commensurate to the applicant's skill and/or certification level. We offer company sponsored health insurance, 401k and life insurance coverage.
B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $0 - $0/year
Our top performing technicians earn in excess of $100,000 annually. We offer the most aggressive compensation packages in our area, commensurate to the applicant's skill and/or certification level. We offer company sponsored health insurance, 401k and life insurance coverage.
C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $0 - $0/year
Our top performing technicians earn in excess of $100,000 annually. We offer the most aggressive compensation packages in our area, commensurate to the applicant's skill and/or certification level. We offer company sponsored health insurance, 401k and life insurance coverage.
