Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Our facility has both heat and air conditioning.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Departments within the company vary in size from 10 to 80 team members. As a company, our team is roughly 700 strong!

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We operate on both first and second shift. First shift runs Monday-Friday, 6:30am to 2:30pm. Second shift runs Monday-Friday, 2:30pm to 11:00pm.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Some positions do not require tools, but the ones that do require them do not come with provided tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We offer a large break room area that includes several vending machines and appliances.

How many bays does your shop have?

Our facility is a production environment and we do not have bays.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We rebuild approximately 6,500 transmissions each month.

What is your parts ordering process?

We have a department solely responsible for purchasing the parts needed to rebuild our transmissions.

What is your policy on side work?


Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We provide an entire new employee training program called the ATSG (Automatic Transmission Service Group) Academy. This is a week-long, paid training session that sets our new employees up for success once they start their work on the floor!

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Growth opportunities at ETE are endless and we love to cross-train as much as possible!

Can you describe your performance review process?

We offer performance reviews on a regular basis, the first of which occurs between 30 and 90 days of employment.

What type of safety training is required?

All new hires attend a New Employee Orientation session on their first day which includes safety training. Recurring training is offered as well!

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

All team members work together on a daily basis to achieve the results we set our minds to!

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

ETE often participates in local food & toy drives and many other community events!

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We are always open to the opportunity to present the transmission rebuild process!

Where do you see the shop in five years?

ETE's growth over the last few years has been immense and we show no signs of stopping! We continue to grow on an annual basis and expect to continue on that trajectory.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our onsite interviews entail an interview with the department's hiring manager, along with a tour of our facility and a quick job shadow of the position you have applied for.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

ETE runs criminal background checks on all applicants who have entered the interview process.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We do not typically require a skill assessment.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Interview feedback is typically provided within the first 1-2 business days following the interview.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Depending on the applicant and position, most full-cycle hiring processes at ETE take less than a week.

Solenoid Builder Pay Range: $16.00 - $20.00/year
