Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is heated via radiant heaters and an oil burning furnace. During the summer we have multiple portacoolers.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

The current staff size is around 20 people. Approximately 10 in the shop and 10 in Sales and parts. We would like to grow a few more tech positions in the shop.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday - Friday - 8 AM to 5 PM Saturday - 8 AM to Noon

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Technical tools are provided. Techs must provide their own toolbox and tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

A break room is provided with Sink, Microwave and Refrigerator. Look through our pictures and you will see one of the breakroom.

How many bays does your shop have?

4 Bays With Lifts 2 Lube Racks With Lifts

How many repair orders do you average per month?

100-125 ROs across the entire shop per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

Many parts are stored on site in our parts department. Special order parts can be ordered through the parts department.

What is your policy on side work?

We do not promote side work on vehicles unless it is family or personal.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We plan on updating our entire shop over the next 2 years to accommodate Electric Vehicles. During this update, the Service Drive will be updated as well.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we encourage training and skill building! Any industry-related training classes or clinics are encouraged, and the shop will help cover costs.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We love seeing techs grow their career with us, and will support them along the way. We are always looking for our techs to gain more training & certification - not only to increase their skills, but also to increase their pay!

Can you describe your performance review process?

Performance reviews consist of meeting with a team member individually, discussing any skills they need to build, along with how they are progressing with training and growth. Our management enjoys hearing areas techs want to build their skills in or learn more about.

What type of safety training is required?

There is no formal safety training, but we will provide it as needed on an individual basis or with all staff.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We have a shop Forman that is responsible for helping grow our younger techs and helping them when they need it.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

At Eagle Chevrolet we pride ourselves on partnering and sponsoring many local organizations in our community. These include sponsoring various High School Events, CSC Events, Various Rodeos in the Area, County Fairs in the Area, Fur Trade Days and Bands On Bordeaux.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We hope to be expanding more into the Electric Vehicle market, growing our shop, and hiring great new team members.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

We have an application that takes only about 5-10 minutes to complete.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

In-person interviews are preferred whenever possible.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

The interview may last anywhere from 30-60 minutes and helps us to get to know the candidate while allowing them to find out more about our shop. We hope to learn about the candidate's work experience, background, and skills.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We perform a background check and driver's license check.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Generally we do not, but there may be a short skill assessment quiz for A/B level technicians.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

As soon as possible - normally within 1 week, and possibly 2 weeks at the most.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

This can be done in as little as a few days depending on the candidate's availability, and would take up to 2 weeks at most.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00/year

Pay is dependent on experience, certifications/training, and efficiency.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00/year

Pay is dependent on experience, certifications/training, and efficiency.

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $27,000.00 - $35,000.00/year ($12.98 - $16.83/hr)

Pay is dependent on experience, certifications/training, and efficiency.

Auto Detailer Pay Range: $24,000.00 - $26,000.00/year ($11.54 - $12.50/hr)
