What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

There are a total of 10 shop technicians and 5 emergency road service technicians

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

-Shop hours are 6 am to 4:30 pm with staggered shifts. -Emergency road service is 24/7 with multiple shifts and limited on call schedule

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Shop supplied tools include 3/4 drive and above, specialty engine tools, and all electronic diagnostic equipment. There are 10 diagnostic computers with OEM software on each. All techs are issued an Ipad with OEM diagnostic subscriptions. ***ALL SERVICE TRUCK TOOLS SUPPLIED***

What type of break room facility is provided?

Break room includes TV, lounge chairs, refrigerator and vending machine.

How many bays does your shop have?

Current facility has 9 bays. New facility in process has 25 bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

800 service orders (shop and road service)

What is your parts ordering process?

DT&T has a parts manager servicing our techs directly. There are full time parts runners providing expedited parts all day.

What is your policy on side work?

No side work allowed on non employee owned vehicles. Any employee vehicle can be worked on after hours, as long as it is not blocking daily operations.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

DT&T offers OEM training for continuing education. This includes aftertreatment diag, electrical and A/C training

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

As our company expands, we like to train and promote within. Our technicians expand their knowledge quickly because we do not hold any tech back on repairs due to their job position.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We have annual performance reviews and open door policy for questions or concerns with owner and management.

What type of safety training is required?

We operate the shop with up to date safety procedures and continue to monitor and amend any unsafe processes.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Young techs will learn and work along side seasoned technicians. Young techs will be encouraged to learn hands on with direction.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Many of our techs and management live and grew up in the village. We take part in any open events we can.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Many techs have been through the same automotive program at the local high school. DT&T sponsors the local auto program and takes part in community meetings.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

DT&T is currently in process of expanding into a 32,000 sq/ft building to better serve our customers and provide a more comfortable work environment for our employees. This expansion will allow for company and individual growth for years to come.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Our application is short and sweet. Time to complete is roughly 15 minutes.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We like to speak with all applicants over the phone and schedule an in-person meeting.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our in-person interviews are about 30 minutes. We like to meet the applicant and discuss the work experience and overall expectations of both parties.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We have random drug screening per DOT requirement. No personality tests at this time.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No skills test at this time. We assess skill level during a 90 day probation period

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

We like to offer or reject an application within 3 days.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Roughly 3 to 5 days

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $65,000 - $100,000/year ($31.25 - $48.08/hr)

Hourly pay for 45 hours per week.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $55,000 - $65,000/year ($26.44 - $31.25/hr)

Hourly pay for 45 hours per week.

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $45,000 - $55,000/year ($21.63 - $26.44/hr)

Hourly pay for 45 hours per week.

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $35,000 - $45,000/year ($16.83 - $21.63/hr)

Hourly pay for 45 hours per week.

Road Service Technician Pay Range: $55,000 - $100,000/year ($26.44 - $48.08/hr)
