Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

All CTOS shops have heat and fans for warm weather.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Teams of 2 - 20 plus. Depends on the group. Truck, Crane, rental truck service. Production areas (crane, utility trucks, aerials and more) welding fabrication, dismantling, gear shop and more.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Many areas start at 5am and others at 6am and 7am. A few areas have a 2nd shift.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Specialty tools provided. Service Technicians, mechanics and senior production Upfit techs are required to have basic hand tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Fridge, microwave, vending machines, climate controlled with A/C

How many bays does your shop have?

CTOS KCMO is on 00 plus acres of land and has 8 plus buildings. 3 main Service departments with 10 plus bays each. Several production areas.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

1000's of trucks unfitted and serviced monthly.

What is your parts ordering process?

Our parts department takes care of the ordering process

What is your policy on side work?

What you do on your own time is your business. (No on-site work)

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

CTOS has a technician training program to start a mechanically inclined person from entry level tech 1 to Tech Level 5 Mister Technician.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

CTOS employees can advance within their team and to other teams. For example, you can start as an Assembly Technician and progress to Specialty Upfit Technician, QC Technician, Service Technician and to Field Service Technician. Many CTOS Supervisors and managers started in hourly paid roles. There is also the opportunity to transfer to other r CTOS locations across the USA. CTOS has 35 locations and 2400 plus employees.

Can you describe your performance review process?

The annual review process takes place in February and March and pay increases are in April.

What type of safety training is required?

CTOS has a Corporate Safety department and local or regional safety managers. Safety training for new hire and on-going safety training is required for CTOS employees.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

CTOS encourages being a good co-worker and helping each other out. CTOS has team leads that offer more formal mentoring.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

CTOS Employee Resource Groups (Veterans ERG and Women Empowered ERG) KC Metro Corporate Challenge Supporting local community organizations.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Internship programs.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Summer 2023 CTOS Kansas City has 900 employees and 2400 employees across the USA. In 3 years we plane to have another 1000 employees for a total of 3500 employs plus across the company.

Phone screens are normally conducted prior to on-site meeting.

Meeting the hiring manager, and a site tour in many cases.

All job offers are contingent on criminal background check, motor vehicle report, drug teats and physical.

In most cases 1-3 business days.

Production Assembly Installation Techs Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00/hour

Welder / Fabrication Pay Range: $22.00 - $30.00/hour
