Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

No, but shop has large industrial fans to keep air moving and everyone cool!

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

4 technicnas and 2 employees in office

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

7:30am -5:30pm Monday - Friday No weekends!

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Shop provides all major and speciality tools. Technicians are required to provide their own set of tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Our break room includes a microwave, fridge, table, laptop, water cooler, gatorade and other assorted teas are provided as well.

What is your parts ordering process?

Technicians go through the service writer to get any parts ordered

What is your policy on side work?

Yes we do allow side work, typically off hours

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We offer trainings and continuing education for technicians to learn and gain experience. We try to promote from within when we can. Have opportunities to move into positions like parts manager for example if their is an opening and you want to move out of the shop.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Yes we perform 90 day and annual reviews with all employees

What type of safety training is required?

No safety training is required

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Yes we encourage our lead technicians to mentor our less experienced technicians. We have another more experienced technician that also helps mentor and help technicians with anything in the shop they may have questions on.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We do an annual fundraiser and a annual pumpkin carving with families.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Yes, we work with a local high school with their automotive shop class for apprenticeship opportunities.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We are Looking to open a 3rd location and we are going to need more experienced technicians to do so!

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

We do not have a formal application form.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes we do phone screen all applicants and it usually takes around 10 minutes to complete.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our in-person interviews include a sit down meeting with shop owner, a shop tour. It can be up to an hour to complete.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We do not require background checks, drug screens or personality tests before hiring.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No skills assessments are required to be completed before hiring.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Our full hiring process can be a quick as 2 days and up to 2 weeks, depending on schedules.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $52,000 - $83,200/year ($25.00 - $40.00/hr)

Sign-on bonus - $1,000 $25-$40 per hour Flat Rate If you have transmission experience Sign-on bonus of $3,000

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $41,600 - $62,400/year ($20.00 - $30.00/hr)

Sign-on bonus - $500 $20-$30 per hour Flat Rate

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $10 - $15/hour

Must have a valid driver's license.
