Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Climate control is maintained through gas and electrical equipment in the shop service area.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Our team consists of an ASE certified Master Technician who leads approximately 10 technicians, 7 service writers and 2 assistant managers.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop is continuously open 24 hours,365 days a year. Staff has the option for full time and part time positions as well as mid-shift hours. Standard shift hours are as follows: 8am-4pm 4pm-12am 12am-8am

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

All tools and equipment are provided for the technicians except hand tools which are owned by the individual technician. . Apprentice technicians share company owned tools until they can purchase their own tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Multiple restaurant options are available with seating available inside. For those who want to enjoy the scenic mountain views outdoors we have several picnic tables in various locations.

How many bays does your shop have?

Service maintenance area consists of 4 flat bays & 2 open pit bays.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

In 2022 the shop averaged 735 repair orders per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

Inventory is maintained on site and is auto ordered and delivered multiple times per week. We strive to complete service work in an exemplary time manner and will make daily purchases and provide immediate company pick up for parts not commonly stocked on site.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work is prohibited that creates a potential technician and employer conflict of interest or is performed for a competitor of employer.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are fortunate to be at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains with many great lakes and streams. A truly beautiful area with excellent schools, affordable housing, low crime rate and no state income tax.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We provide training for all technicians to continue their learning and increase their pay, A $50 bonus and reimbursement for ASE testing expenses is awarded when a certificate is earned. Technicians immediately receive an increase in labor commission upon passing the ASE tests.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Our service management team seeks to provide opportunities to promote our employees from within our own organization. As technicians training, skills and experience increase management will look first to promote current employees to open and new positions.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Every truck service employee receives an annual performance review.

What type of safety training is required?

We provide safety training for all in-bay and roadside repairs as well as forklift certification, MSDS and general safety.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Apprentice Technicians complete all web based training for a specific job then shadow the senior techs to sharpen their skills with hands on training and experience.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We support multiple charities such as Isaiah House, Recover Soldiers and the Girls Scouts as well as local schools in Green County.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We are partnered with the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT).

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We are constantly striving to build upon our reputation in the business and community. Currently, we are looking to expand our scope of service and our training and mentoring programs.

Yes, a manager will call you once you have applied via the website; please be sure to include your resume when applying online.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

The manager completing the interview will review of prior experience or education, driving record, scheduling needs.

We complete background checks and MVR check on all technician candidates.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We do not, just include any degree or certificate earned either through your previous employee or school/college.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

The manager will usually contact you within 24-48 hours of completing the interview; a job offer will be made but tentative on the results of the background and DVR records.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

You will usually start within 2-3 days

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

All technicians and Apprentice candidates must have a valid drivers license.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $32.00 - $38.00/hour

Same as TECH LEVEL B but additionally holds one or more ASE certifications; Technician earns 1% more in commission up to 45% and a Master Technician earns 46%. For each ASE certificate the technician earns an additional $2 per hour, to a maximum of $26 per hour base for Master Technicians. * Final pay depends on commission earned

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $25.00 - $32.00/hour

Same as TECH LEVEL C but additionally must be able to diagnose and repair HVAC, driveline and suspension systems as well as starting/charging systems. Tech can earn 41% commission on labor dollars generated. * Final pay depends on commission earned

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00/hour

Same as TECH LEVEL D but additionally must be able to perform alignments, tire related road service and perform minor mechanical repairs. Tech can earn 39% commission on labor dollars generated. * Final pay depends on commission earned

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $14.00 - $17.00/hour

This position is an entry level position for candidates who are currently enrolled in a diesel program, who have studied auto mechanics in high school or have limited skills in either diesel or automotive maintenance/repair. This is an hourly position.

D LEVEL TECHNICIAN Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.00/hour

Able to perform preventative maintenance services and inspections as well as mount/balance and repair tires. Tech can earn 37% commission on labor dollars generated.
