Climate controlled break room with refrigerator, microwave, TV, sink and ice machine.

Technician send request electronically and parts are delivered to stall.
What is your policy on side work?
Any side must be approved by management.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Yes, we regularly review training progress. All training is reimbursed by dealer.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
All employees are encouraged to grow and move to the next level. Great example being our Assistant General Manager started as a technician with us.
Can you describe your performance review process?
Service Manager and Shop Foreman routinely review performance. Formal reviews are scheduled quarterly.
What type of safety training is required?
Safety training is required during orientation and reviewed annually.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We maintain a working environment that breeds team work. Shop Foreman works closely with younger techs and experienced techs are always willing to help and train.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
Covert has been in business for 111 years and has a long history of giving back to the community, Covert Hutto works with local shools, sporting programs and community programs.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Yes, we work with local school and tech programs to educate on the benefits of our careers.
Where do you see the shop in five years?
Double the size it is now. We have enjoyed an average of 20% growth year over year. With enthusiastic ownership in the middle of one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, growth will not slow down.
Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?
Yes, less than 10 minutes.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
In person interviews are preferred but we have no problem with phone interviews if needed.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Interviews are conducted by our Shop Foreman and Service Manager. Questions would be asked to better understand skill level, personality, and experience. We also encourage applicant to ask questions of us.

Yes, background and drug screen is part of the hiring process.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $80,000 - $200,000/year
Compensation is flat rate commision and based on experience, skill level, and certifications.
B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year
Compensation is flat rate commision and based on experience, skill level, and certifications.
C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $45,000 - $70,000/year
Compensation is flat rate commision and based on experience, skill level, and certifications.
Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $30,000 - $50,000/year
Entry level technician with different pay plans based on skill. Constant on the job training, tools not required.
