Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Shop is heated, but not air conditioned.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
We have a Quick Express team of 6 technicians, Recon team of 2 technicians, Medium Duty truck center with 3 technicians, Main shop of 7 technicians.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
We are open from 7-6 Mon-Friday 8-3 Saturday. Technicians are here from 8-5 Monday- Friday and Quick Lane is here 8-3 every Saturday. Rotating Saturday shifts with two techs each Saturday.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Special Tools are provided, lifts, engine lifts, and powertrain tables.
What type of break room facility is provided?
We have a 4 break rooms to chose from, equipped with TV's with Direct TV, Refrigerators, and Microwaves.
How many bays does your shop have?
1 Light duty Alignment rack, 1 Medium duty Alignment rack, 5 medium duty racks in the truck shop, 4 lifts in recon shop, 20 lifts in main shop
How many repair orders do you average per month?
800 to 1000 repair orders per month
What is your parts ordering process?
4 parts counter persons
What is your policy on side work?
Employee vehicles only
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
All Ford and ASE training is available
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
All levels are welcome, from no experience to Master Tech. We have entry level positions and will train from changing oil to changing powertrains.
Can you describe your performance review process?
Performance reviews are done twice a month with regular shop meetings. With goal oriented and positive reinforcements from management.
What type of safety training is required?
Hazmat training is available and All OSHA standards are followed
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Master Techs are spread throughout the facility and always willing to mentor and train the younger up and coming younger techs.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
Corwin Automotive, as a whole, is extremely involved in every community that they do business in. There are several opportunities, throughout the year, for employees to represent Corwin within their local communities.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We are extremely evolved with Ozark's Technical Community College donating time, supplies, and resources. We have several Technicians that are on campus instructors and regularly attend advisory meetings.
Where do you see the shop in five years?
Growing into the ecteronic age of vehicles. Electric charging stations in each bay, with a work mix of 60% ICE vehicles and 40% Electric.
Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?
We have a paper application that all potential employees fill out, in person, before their face to face interview. This application can take anywhere from 15-30 minutes to fill out.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Generally, we do not phone screen applicants before the In-Person Interview.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
In person interviews entail a detailed explanation of what is expected of the job, a chance for the potential employee to tell us about themselves and why they feel they are best for the job, and a tour of the facility in which they are applying to work.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
All potential employees must pass a criminal, and driving Background Check, as well as a Drug Screening.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
No, we do not perform a skill assessment before hiring.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
If not hires on the spot, we will make hiring decisions within 3-5 days after the interview.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
The full hiring process can take up to a week.
A Level Technician
Pay Range: $30.00 - $42.00/hour
Diesel and Medium truck work
B Level Technician
Pay Range: $25.00 - $29.00/hour
Flat Rate with heavy line, powertrain diag and powertrain replacements.
C Level Technician
Pay Range: $22.00 - $23.00/hour
Flat Rate technician with recall, light maintenance, oil leaks (valve covers, oil pans)
Lube Technician
Pay Range: $20.00 - $21.00/hour
Flat Rate technician with light recall and light maintenance skills required
Student Tech / Apprentice
Pay Range: $16.00 - $19.00/hour
Highschool to College Students
Service Advisor
Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $125,000.00/year
Pay based on selling and several bonus structures with a heavy focus on CSI
