The shop is heated and we have a window air conditioner for the hot days
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
You will be the only Mechanic on duty but you will work with an Auto Detailer in the same 2 Bay Garage
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
9-5 Monday thru Friday 9-3 Saturday (optional) Closed Sundays
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
There are most tools provided but if the Mechanic has his own tools there will be a designated area to put them.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Yes there is a break room for Lunch

What is your parts ordering process?
Order from all the local Auto Parts stores or New Car Dealers Parts Department
What is your policy on side work?
Not allowed unless asked and approved by the owner and on the individuals own time.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
This is a Small Auto Dealership that services only their own cars and Car that come back under the warranty period.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We will offer skills training if the individual wants to better themselves at night school.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
There is an opportunity to take over the business within the next 7 years when the owner retires to a part-timer. For the right individual, we can help put you on a career path to achieve all of your career goals
Can you describe your performance review process?
I will see what the Tech's skills are and will be reviewed in the first 2 weeks and then every 3 months thereafter.
What type of safety training is required?
No formal safety training
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We encourage Tech to learn from all the tools and software we provide. We will be there for support and help whenever we can
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We donate money and have hired a person with a learning disability to work here part time.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We would love to hire any student that has the aptitude and desire to work as a mechanic.
Where do you see the shop in five years?
We hope to grow in terms of volume and sales. We just hit 40 years in the business.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?
Yes and it takers no more than 5 minutes
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, we can. If it's convenient for the candidate we're happy to accommodate. The screen is a light gauge of the candidates interest, and basic background questions
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Talking with the owner after he reads the resume. It is a very informal interview. Discussion includes the candidate's background, certifications, skill set, and getting to know them as a person

Yes

No, but there is a trial period to see what the individual's capabilities are

There is a routine interview followed by a back ground check with referrals called and references checked
B Level Technician
Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00/year
Intermediate Repair and Maintenance. Often performing a wide range of automotive maintenance such as oil changes ,tire rotations, fluid checks as well addressing common vehicle issues like brake repairs, steering and suspension work, and basic electrical system troubleshooting.
C Level Technician
Pay Range: $18.00 - $22.00/year
This is an entry level mechanic within the automotive repair industry. These mechanics have the basic knowledge of automotive systems and components and are just starting their careers in the field. They can do basic work such as brakes, shocks, oil changes, scan for codes and change basic front end parts and components such tie rod ends, control arms and bushings, bulbs, O2 sensors, MAF sensors and window regulators.
Lube Technician
Pay Range: $0.00 - $0.00/year

A Level Technician
Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00/hour
Top level Mechanic or Master Mechanic is an expert in the field of repair and maintenance, possessing advanced knowledge and skill in servicing and diagnosing complex vehicle systems and components. At this level a Master Tech is proficient in a wide range of automotive systems, including engine performance, electrical and electronic systems, steering and suspension, brakes, heating and AC and more. They are able to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic issues, often utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and equipment. They have a minimum of 5 years expience with certifications .
