We have 12 main shop technicians and 4 lube techs

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We are open 730am-6pm M-F and 730am-4pm on Sat

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We have all the Ford Special Service tools. Alignment racks, wheel balancers, brake lathes, tire machines, hydraulic presses, IDS lap tops, car pushers, jump boxes and many more.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a break room with a refrigerator, microwave and tv

How many bays does your shop have?

We have 24 in the main shop and 4 in quick lane

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We do around 1100 per month

What is your parts ordering process?

We utilize X-Time inspect to perform vehicle multipoint inspections. When the technicians add recommended service lines and specify what parts they need for the job they will send the estimate electronically for parts department to quote the necessary parts to complete the job. Once parts is finished with quoting the necessary parts for the job the quote is sent to the advisor who makes it presentable for the Guest. The Advisor will send the quote to the Guest and review with them. Once the Guest can approve directly from their phone or email or the advisor can approve the repair. Once the repair is approved the parts department is notified through X-time and the parts are ordered. Simple efficient and easy.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work is not permitted.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We offer access all manufacturer training online and classroom when available. The Coggin group holds in house training sessions every other week at different dealerships where technicians will attend from 4-6 pm for classes on ; Brakes, A/C, Suspension, Electrical, Maintenance and more. Classes consist of 1 hour class time and 1 hour of hands on practical application.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

There are opportunities from starting as an entry level technician to grow from a D - Level to an A - Level tech through training, performance and practical application.

Can you describe your performance review process?

When you are hired there is a 30 day, 90 day, 6 month and annual. After your first year there are only annual performance reviews. Reviews are process through our Ultipro business management system. The team member is notified that they will have a self assessment of their performance. After that is complete and sent to management they review and complete their assessment and schedule a review with the team member.

What type of safety training is required?

We have our Asbury Hub which has access to lift safety, eye protection training and more.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

The shop is very communal and everyone helps on another. If there is down time younger technicians will shadow more senior technicians. We assign apprentices to mentors in the shop to learn inspection process and technical training.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

As part of Asbury Automotive Group. We aim to live up to the Asbury Automotive motto, to be "The most guest centric automotive retailer". In 2021, We raised over $170,000 for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) through the HBCU Change Program as well as $37,113 for Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Our CEO and Vice President of Corporate Development and Real Estate maintain oversight of our energy management approach.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We participate in local schools advisory boards and events at UTI and Seminole State to foster relationships.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Applications are online at https://www.asburycareers.com They take approximately 30 min - 60 min. If you have a prepared resume to upload the process is faster. We have a service focus assessment called the caliper and it is approximately 60 question that give insight on where you fit in on the service focus spectrum.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Applicants are called for a phone screen and scheduling an interview.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

In person interviews include interviewing with the Service Manager and General Manager

We do perform background checks, drug screens and personality tests before a candidate is eligible for hire.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $60,001 - $100,000/year ($28.85 - $48.08/hr)

Pay is flat rate

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $50,000 - $60,000/year ($24.04 - $28.85/hr)

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $40,000 - $55,000/year ($19.23 - $26.44/hr)

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $30,000 - $36,000/year ($14.42 - $17.31/hr)
