Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

We are currently under construction building a state of the art facility which will include Climate controlled shop, With built in toolboxes state of the art equipment new lifts

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

20-30 Technicians for our growing shop

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop hours Monday-Saturday 8am to 5pm Technician shifts are typically Monday Thru Friday and every other Saturday

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We have standard jacks and lifts, state of the art special tool room coming with new building.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Right now just a standard backroom, New Construction will have a state of the art employee breakroom with flat screen tv's

How many bays does your shop have?

33 bays climate controlled

How many repair orders do you average per month?

1500 to 1600 repair orders a month

What is your parts ordering process?

We use a tool called X-TIME we perform the multi point and inspection and request necessary parts to perform the work and parts will order as needed

What is your policy on side work?

No side work but allow work on your own car with ticket on vehicle must go thru management

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

Family oriented, Management involvement, Team work helping each other out, We also perform a Town hall meeting every month after hours and provide dinner to discuss any issues going on in shop or ideas brought to the table

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Asbury offers in house training program Practical and Technical fundamentals to grow within.

Performance review every 90 days

What type of safety training is required?

Lift safety training thru Asbury Portal and I.T training which are 2 min videos with no test all done thru Asbury portal, You will receive emails in your company email to perform these trainings

J-tech and FSCJ we do career days

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Tech school HR sets up job Fairs and if interested we pay a salary to come on board and work while in school and learn and get hands on

Where do you see the shop in five years?

I see the shop in Five years on Split shifts 4/10 work days and helping our guest needs

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

On-Line Application takes about 15mins to complete

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We do call the applicant before interview to set up a time and day

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Face to face meeting with Service Director and General Manager, We talk shop talk, Review the resume and walk them thru shop.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes we perform drug screening, Background also personality test is a great tool to understand how we communicate in areas to develop and grow with each other

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No But we do personality test is a great tool to understand how we communicate in areas to develop and grow with each other

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

24-48 hrs or less

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Once we agree we send you an email to start background and drug screening and usually get a drug screen back with 24hrs Background depends if your from out of state can take 3-5 business days in state 3 days

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $90,000 - $150,000/year

General Motors offers Mark of Excellence program the pays Quarterly bonuses, Asbury participate in a percentage towards the Mark of Excellence bonuses. Flexible schedule

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $90,000/year

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $40,000 - $60,000/year

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $25,000 - $40,000/year

Asbury offers in house training program Practical and Technical fundamentals to grow within. Career path way developed for anyone with aspirations to grow and improve their livelihood.

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $15 - $20/hour

Apprentice program works with one of our Master Technicians and attends the Asbury Training program to learn automotive skills and get paid while learning

401 K Company match offered through Fidelity. All full-time and part-time team members are eligible to participate in the retirement savings plan. • Eligibility: The Sunday following 84 days of employment. • Company match after one year of 50% on the first 6% of deferral. • Three year vesting scheduling on company match

PTO offered. (Up to 22 days depending on length of employment service) PTO (Paid Time Off) • Available to use after 6 months of employment. • PTO hours will be awarded based on tenure and date of hire as of January 1. • For new hires hired in: o January-88 hours (11 days) o February-80 hours (10 days) o March-72 hours (9 days) o April-64 hours (8 days) o May-56 hours (7 days) • 6 months to 2 years tenure on January 1-88 hours per calendar year. • 3 to 6 years tenure on January 1-136 hours per calendar year • 7+ years tenure on January 1-176 hours per calendar year.
Paid Holidays Offered
Technicians and Fixed Operations Employees receive 6 paid holidays. These holidays include: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

• Tool allowances available for select positions. Holiday Match Program- Team members who elect to defer one percent (1%) of their earnings up to a maximum of $100,000 gross wages (maximum $1,000 deferral) will receive that back on or after Thanksgiving plus another one percent (1%) match from the company (maximum $1,000 match from the company).
