Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is heated.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Our team consists of six Certified Technicians, one General Service, two Service Advisors, one Service Manager, one General Manager, and the Owner.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Our shop is open from 7am to 6 PM, Monday Through Friday. Technicians usually work from 7 to 5 while advisors work 7 am to 6 pm with rotating closing nights.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide all Diagnostic Computers, as well as specialty tools from the manufacturers. We also provide tablets and laptops for the Technicians.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a breakroom with a refrigerator and a microwave.

How many bays does your shop have?

Our shop has 9 bays.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We average 400 to 500 vehicles per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

Our front service team orders and receives all parts.

What is your policy on side work?

Technicians are allowed to work on cars at the shop for their immediate family.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We work and get along as a family, with Technicians happy to jump in and help one another. We keep our shop very clean and organized.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We offer both in-person and online training for Technicians, Advisors, and Managers. Our Shop Foreman handles all technician training and the owner handles all management training. We attend a company wide training program in Houston once per year.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Employees have the opportunity to move into different positions when there are openings.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We monitor performance indicators weekly and share them with the staff. We have monthly check ins with teammates to discuss personal and work goals and issues.

What type of safety training is required?

Part of the on boarding process is the employee must take several on line safety training classes.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our Shop Foreman is a certified CTI instructor and handles all aspects of training. This includes scheduling training classes as well as mentoring the younger apprentices. We use and follow a technician protégé program through one of our vendors.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We are heavily involved with Grace Church's Vehicle Ministry Program. We open for them every other month on a Saturday and perform oil changes and safety inspections for their clients at no cost. We also work with Family Promise of Hamilton County to give them donated vehicle's that we repair to families in need. One Saturday every October we open our doors for single moms and provide free oil changes and safety inspections for them.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We have welcomed interns from a local high school to work with our Technicians and help prepare them for technical school.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Our shop has continuously grown every year since we opened in 2013. We are continuing that growth and adding team members as needed to fuel that growth as well as sustain our excellent customer service we are known for.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

We love for our team mates to seek out educational opportunities and grow! Our industry is constantly changing so we encourage everyone to keep training and stay current to the industry changes. We also encourage our teammates to be involved in the community and to recommend any project or organization we should support.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

We have an application that can be filled out on line or in person and usually takes just a few minutes to complete.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We do perform an initial phone interview, which can take between 20 - 30 minutes.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our in-person interviews start with a meeting with the owner. Next step would include a shop tour and a meeting with both our general manager and our shop foreman.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We call employee references as part of the hiring process.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We typically do not perform a skill assessment, however, our shop foreman will ask candidate's questions about their repair knowledge.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

This typically takes a couple of days to two weeks.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

We typically try to complete the whole process within one week.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

Since our employees spend so much time together it is important that our work culture is family oriented. A good working relationship with all teammates is key to maintaining and continuing to grow our family oriented culture. We work hard together and also schedule team building events at least once per quarter.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $80,000 - $125,000/year

Pay is based on production, with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours a week.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $50,000 - $80,000/year

Pay is based on production, with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours a week
