The shop is both heated and air-conditioned.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We have 9 technicians and 3 advisors.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday through Friday we are open from 7am to 7 pm. Saturday we are open from 8am to 4pm. Sunday we are closed.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The dealership provides all of the special tools required by Kia, and major equipment

What type of break room facility is provided?

Separate room with microwave, refrigerator and sink

How many bays does your shop have?

13 and alignment rack

How many repair orders do you average per month?

1000-1200 a month

What is your parts ordering process?

Tech works directly with parts associate

What is your policy on side work?

Techs are allowed after working hours but must have a repair order generated

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, direct training with factory-trained leaders and trainers at a Kia training facility. The dealership will provide hotel and class costs as well as reimbursement for food and gas.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We promote from within. Our shop foreman was a line tech, and our service manager was a service advisor with the company prior to being promoted.

90 days for new hires and annually review thereafter

PPE, Lift training, Hazardous materials

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Shop foreman is dedicated to mentoring lube techs. Master-certified techs help their bay neighbor. They will be available to answer questions, and help through repairs when time permits

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

In the past, we have sponsored little league baseball teams

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We participate in career day at the local technical college

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes, we provide an electronic application form or one you can complete at the dealership. It will take about 10-15 minutes.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, we typically like to have a phone interview before having you come out to the dealership. Just to make sure we are all on the same page before the in person interview.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

In-person interviews occur at our dealership where the potential hire will sit down with multiple management personnel. Typically the Service Manager and the shop foreman. A few basic questions are asked to find out what you are looking for in a dealership to see if we are a good match. You will have the opportunity to walk through our shop and talk to our technicians.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes. Background checks, driving record checks and drug testing are required

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Applicants will talk with the shop foreman or lead technician and they will review different job skills with you.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Offers are made usually with 24 hours contingent on the background and drug screens.

Additional $3.00 per hour for warranty hours turned, pay based on experience and certifications

B Level Technician Pay Range: $0.00 - $27.00/hour

Additional $3.00 per hour for warranty hours turned, pay based on experience and certifications

C Level Technician Pay Range: $0.00 - $23.00/hour

Additional $3.00 per hour for warranty hours turned, pay based on experience and certifications

Service Advisor Pay Range: $45,000.00 - $80,000.00/year

Based on personal performance.

Service Manager Pay Range: $0.00 - $76,000.00/year

Based on performance of the Service Department.

Student Tech / Apprentice Pay Range: $0.00 - $19.00/hour

Based on hours turned. Hourly paid position

Lube Technician Pay Range: $0.00 - $16.00/year

Clock hours plus $2.00 per hours turned.
