Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

We have both heaters for the winter and fans for the summer to keep the shop comfortable at all times.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

The team is composed of 10 technicians

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop hours are 7am-7pm weekdays, and 7am-4pm Saturdays.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The shop has a new alignment rack and state inspection equipment.

What type of break room facility is provided?

The break room has a table, chairs, refrigerator, vending machine, sink, and ice machine.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

What is your parts ordering process?

Technicians will tell the Service Advisor which parts are needed, and the Service Advisor will order from the Parts Department.

What is your policy on side work?

All work must be approved by the shop management beforehand.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

Lunch is supplied by the shop every Saturday - not only for the service team, but the whole dealership! We love to celebrate birthdays and work anniversaries, along with hosting cookouts on holidays. We have a fun team environment!

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We offer online Honda classes technicians can take, including supporting them to earn Honda Master Technician status.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We always look to promote from within and help our employees grow into different roles! As an example, one of our current Service Managers started out with us as a lube technician.

What type of safety training is required?

We have a mandatory annual safety training course.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Seasoned technicians will mentor younger technicians, including answering questions and helping them learn new techniques.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Burleson Honda is committed to giving back to the surrounding community. We're a member of the Burleson and Fort Worth Chambers of Commerce, and we're happy to work with great causes like Relay for Life and SPARK Worldwide.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

We have an online application that takes about 15 minutes to complete.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes

What do your in-person interviews entail?

The in-person interview will be a meeting between the candidate and Service Director, who will find out about the candidate's skills and experience. This will last about 30 minutes.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $36,000 - $65,000/year

Compensation is flat-rate and dependent on experience and efficiency. We provide an annual Christmas bonus - $1 for every flagged hour

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $33,000 - $47,000/year

Compensation is flat-rate and dependent on experience and efficiency. We provide an annual Christmas bonus - $1 for every flagged hour
