Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is heated in colder months, and stays comfortable the rest of the year.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We have about 25 total staff. Techs work in 5-person teams, with 3 service advisors per team.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The shop hours are Monday - Saturday, 7 am - 6 pm. Shifts can be flexible, with techs working either 4 or 5 days per week. Normal shifts can be 7 am - 4 pm or 9 am - 6 pm (5-day work week); or 7 am - 6 pm (4-day work week)

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide standard heavy equipment needs (i.e. alignment rack, press), and all Toyota specialty tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a brand new break room in our new facility! Our break room has standard amenities such as table, chairs, TV, microwave, lockers, etc.

How many bays does your shop have?

There are 9 bays in the downstairs shop and 17 bays in the upstairs shop.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

About 2500 - 3000

What is your parts ordering process?

Techs will put in the parts recommendation, and the service advisor will send the order to the Parts department. The service advisor & technician will be notified when the part arrives.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work may be allowed as long as work is done off the clock, has a repair order, and is done on a family vehicle only.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We encourage our techs to grow their skills and take advantage of training opportunities. Toyota has great classes offered, and online training offered is very convenient. An example of Toyota's training is the T‑TEN program, which provides state‑of‑the‑art, hands‑on automotive diagnosis and repair training.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We encourage techs to grow their career with us, and prefer promoting from within whenever possible. We will work with techs who want to move up to ensure they have the needed training and experience.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Performance reviews are completed every 6 months.

What type of safety training is required?

Standard safety training is provided, and individual training will be available if needed.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Seasoned techs mentor and support newer, younger techs whenever possible. We look to promote younger techs once they've proven themselves and have gained experience. The shop foreman makes themselves available to answer questions and provide guidance to younger techs.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We look to support our local community however we can! We have been involved in a variety of ways such as sponsoring local events run by the city or nonprofit organizations, and partnering with local schools.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work with local high schools and tech schools in a variety of ways. We do presentations (both over Zoom or in-person) when possible, educating students about the industry and hopefully recruiting techs.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We hope to be growing! Having a bigger shop, better equipment, and grow our team of techs is our goal. We have a brand new, state-of the art building and we look forward to our new facility being a great environment for our team.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

There is an application form that takes only about 5-10 minutes to complete.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We prefer doing in-person interviews whenever possible, but will do phone screenings if needed by the candidate.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

They will meet with the Service Director and/or Service Manager, who will find out more about the candidate's work experience, training/certifications, and personality. A tour of the facility may also be provided.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $50,000 - $110,000/year

Pay is flat-rate and averages $24-35/hour. Compensation may be higher depending on training/certifications and experience. On average, our techs are 150% efficient.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $48,000 - $52,000/year

Pay may be flat-rate or hourly, depending on tech's interest, skills, experience, etc. Compensation averages $23-25/hour.

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $44,000 - $48,000/year

Pay may be flat-rate or hourly, depending on tech's interest, skills, experience, etc. Compensation averages $21-23/hour.

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $40,000 - $45,000/year

Compensation is hourly and may start at $20/hour

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $48,000 - $86,000/year

We are looking for both express and main line service writers.
