What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00 pm, one hour lunch. Saturdays 8:00am to 1:00pm, rotating basis, not every Saturday

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

All the latest available special tools available required by the manufacturer plus new shop equipment, lifts, alignment machine, tire mounter and balancer.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Lunch room with seating, microwave and refrigerator and a pizza oven! Clean, cool and off the shop areas.

How many bays does your shop have?

24 working and flat stalls to work with

How many repair orders do you average per month?

300-500 between customer, warranty and internal pay Ro's

What is your parts ordering process?

Electronic parts ordering por face to face if needed

What is your policy on side work?

Personal vehicles only as per company policy

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are family oriented and we work to get that right balance between work and family! Great facilities, great teams, customer focused

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We follow all manufacturer training guidelines and requirements and reimburse for all passed ASE classes.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Many of our Master Technicians started as apprentices, lube techs or even porters. When we have openings we always look from within and reward on skill, knowledge, production and aptitude.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We conduct performance reviews of our technicians formally twice a year, looking at a series of production metrics as well as employee happiness, teamwork and contribution to fellow employees and the company.

What type of safety training is required?

We follow all applicable safety procedures and guidlines.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We offer mentorship training at several locations and have techs working at virtually all of our shops who benefitted from the guidance of a senior tech.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Our Group is involved with local colleges and high schools to encourage youth to join the technician workforce. We offer tours, charitable donations and often host community events for many different organizations throughout the Midwest.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We have attended many workshops and career days at the local high schools as well as given tours of our facilities to interested students. These tours involve question and answer sessions with service managers, technicians, and executive leadership.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

International Autos believes in brick and mortar and the advancement of our service departments through modern technology. As electric vehicles become more prevalent, our facilities will be equipped to handled them and our technicians will be trained to service them.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

Career development is top priority! The more knowledge we can provide to our team, the better you will be able to help and serve our guests when they come in!

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

The application process is all on line! A few simple steps and you can be on your way to a very exciting automotive experience! Its easy and quick!

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, after your initial submission, we will review your application and then reach out to you and then make a face-to-face interview day and time to meet in person.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Very easy and simple! Interviews can be nerve racking, and we try to make things as comfortable as possible. We will review your resume/application, go over your training and your experience history, and discuss how we can possibly make you apart of the IA Family! We also do a small tour of the facility and you can meet the other associates and see how we operate in real time!

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes, we do require background checks, a pre-employment drug screening. We also do a drivers license background check for insurance purposes. We do have some other tests that are available that you may be asked to complete. Most of these are all done on line and can be done from the comfort in your home environment.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Yes, we do have skill assessments prior to hiring, we would discuss these tests during our phone and/or face-to-face interview. And again, these can be done at your convince.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Generally speaking with 24 hours.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

All dependent on how soon the applicant responds to the requests that are made. Generally, it takes a few days.

Automotive Service Techniciah Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year
