The shop is heated and the shop stays cool due to insulation and 4 large fans

I would like to have 3 techs
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm . (2) 15 min breaks and 1 Hr lunch
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We have 2 very large tool boxes that are full of tools We have air & Battery operated tools for everyone to use, all in like-new condition
What type of break room facility is provided?
We encourage you to get away from the work environment and clear your mind because it gives you a chance to relax, reset and enjoy your work.
How many bays does your shop have?
5 Bays and 4 lifts
How many repair orders do you average per month?
Anywhere from 30 to 60 per month
What is your parts ordering process?
I have awesome suppliers aftermarket and factory.
What is your policy on side work?
Side work is not to be performed anywhere on the shop premises nor will any shop part be used from this shop or purchased using our shop accounts.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Yes we are involved with Ac Delco , Motorcraft , Mopar & Bosch. We also have access to Motor online and Direct- Hit. We also have access to many different training seminars.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We will help you get and keep your ASE'S, Smog License , Brake & Headlamp.
Can you describe your performance review process?
This is on going we reward our tech's for outstanding achievement's. With bonus and paid time off
What type of safety training is required?
We constantly talk about safety and make it our number one priority. We have a perfects safety record and we want to keep it that way.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We encourage everyone to be a team player and help each other. Remember you can learn something from anyone. Two heads are better than one.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
I was on the high school advisory board for 15 years

I would like to find someone to train and take it over

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?
Only a few minutes, I mostly rely on resumes.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
I will talk to an applicant on the phone and ask for a resume by email first. If I like what I see I will schedule a appointment and have them call before they come in.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
I will ask them about themselves and see how they present themselves. I will also see what kind of car they drive. I expand on the resume.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Sometimes only if I feel uneasy about them or if I feel it's warranted.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
Yes, I invite them to come and check out the shop
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
Usually 1hr or with in 24hr
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
This all depends on how soon the applicant is available to work.
Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?
I am looking for someone to take us to the next level and that has a great work ethic. I would like to find someone to mentor to take over for me in the next 3 to 5 years
A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $63,000 - $100,000/year
($30.29 - $48.08/hr)
This is based on skill level, performance and current licenses held. Must have their own tools and at least 5 to 7 years experience as an auto tech. + Bonus program.
B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $45,000 - $55,000/year
($21.63 - $26.44/hr)
This is based on skill level, performance and current licenses held. Tools belonging to the tech are not needed at this level. Must have several years experience in the automotive repair field and the willingness to progress to an A tech.
C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $30,000 - $45,000/year
($14.42 - $21.63/hr)
This is based on skill level, Performance and current licenses held. Tools are provided to you at this level. Must have 3 years experience in the auto repair field and a willingness to continue training to progress to a B level then A tech. Automotive Technician education and training requirements are based on the needs of our shop. The most common skills and requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ASE certification and more than 3 years of experience as a Service Technician or Automotive Technician. An understanding of and ability to use diagnostic equipment and a willingness to continue training and certifications is also useful.
