What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

You will be working with a team of about 8.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday thru Friday 8am-6pm. Saturday 8am-5pm and Sunday 9am-4pm.Shift time frames are 8 hour shifts. Starting times may vary.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Company scanner, all flush machines, A/C machines, all software you need to diagnose all kinds of vehicles.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Clean break room with fridge, microwave and coffee machine available.

How many bays does your shop have?

7 bays including an Alignment machine.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

On average of about 450 repair orders per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

The advisors upfront order all the parts for the techs.

What is your policy on side work?

We do not allow it in our own shop.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

Great working environment and crew is pumped up everyday.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Training will be provided "Hands On" and the company will provide all training for vehicles and tires. Company constantly has paid training videos and handbooks.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

The opportunities are endless here at Big Brand. You can start off as a General Service and work up to master mechanic. If you are a service writer then you can work your way up to General Manager and even become a District manager.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We have a performance review every 6 months and go over how we are doing as a company and how you are doing as an employee.

What type of safety training is required?

We have safety meetings once every month and make sure we all understand the importance of safety in all aspects of our job.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Techs will work hand in hand with the new tech and show him/her the start to finish process of how we do things here at Big Brand.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We like to sponsor anyone we can that is in our community from little league to car washes' for special occasions.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Not high school but we do work close with the students at UTI school.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We see the shop growing in customer base and crew members to service those customers. I see the shop becoming a huge connection with the Avondale community.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes. After you apply you will be contacted by a recruiter to review your work history and experience. If you are qualified for the position, the recruiter will then coordinate an interview with you and the Store Manager or District Manager.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Your interview with the hiring manager could be conducted either in-person at a store or virtually over Google Meets. They will review your work history with you and ask you to describe your automotive skills and abilities. You can expect the interview to take approx. 30 minutes.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Our employees are required to be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with a driving record that is insurable under the company’s auto insurance. Part of our post-offer, pre-hire process is a background check that includes a motor vehicle report (MVR).

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We do not perform a pre-hire skill assessment, but during the interview you will be asked in-depth questions about your skills. Once hired, your first 90 days of employment are considered an introductory period. During this period, we will evaluate your work attitude, attendance, performance and ability to work with other team members and supervisors. Likewise, during this period, you have the opportunity to determine if you are satisfied with your position and working environment.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

You can expect an answer on your candidacy within a week.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

You can expect to receive a call within 1 day of submitting an application. Then, our dedicated recruiter will reach out to you to review your resume, and schedule an interview with the District Manager at your earliest convenience. After you have completed the interview with the District Manager, you will receive an offer or a Thank You email that same week.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

Our pre-hire onboarding process is quick and easy. You will receive your offer letter, background check authorization, and onboarding paperwork electronically to your email. It takes about an hour to complete the whole packet, and you can start working with us as soon as our HR team has confirmed it has been completed and you are cleared to start. We can help you along the way if you have questions with any particular form. The sooner the packet is completed, the sooner you can start!

Assistant Manager Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $95,000.00/year ($28.85 - $45.67/hr)

Our compensation program is based on your individual performance, as well as your store's performance. Your earning potential will be dependent on your ability to execute sales. As a manager you are also eligible to receive a monthly manager bonus depending on your store's performance and if monthly goals and targets were met. While there is no maximum amount you can earn in sales commission and monthly manager bonuses, the average effective hourly pay rate ranges between $28.00 to $45.00 per hour, which includes hourly rate, sales commission, monthly manager bonus, and overtime.

Store Manager Pay Range: $75,000.00 - $140,000.00/year ($36.06 - $67.31/hr)

Our compensation program is based on your individual performance, as well as your store's performance. Your earning potential will be dependent on your ability to execute sales. As a manager you are also eligible to receive a monthly manager bonus depending on your store's performance and if monthly goals and targets were met. While there is no maximum amount you can earn in sales commission and monthly manager bonuses, the average effective hourly pay rate ranges between $36.00 to $67.00 per hour, which includes hourly rate, sales commission, monthly manager bonus, and overtime.

Manager in Training Pay Range: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00/year ($26.44 - $31.25/hr)

Our compensation program is based on your individual performance. While you are in the Manager in Training program, your earning potential will be dependent on your ability to execute sales. While there is no maximum amount you can earn in sales commission the average effective hourly pay rate ranges between $20.00 to $31.00 per hour, which includes hourly rate, sales commission, and overtime.

Tire and Lube Technician Pay Range: $17.50 - $20.00/hour

Our compensation program is based on performance. Your earning potential will be dependent on your ability to perform preventative maintenance, not limited to tires and oil changes. While there is no limit to the amount you can earn in commission, the average effective hourly pay rate ranges between $17.50 to $20.00 per hour, which includes hourly rate, plus your commission, and overtime.

General Service Technician Pay Range: $18.00 - $25.00/hour

Our compensation program is based on performance. Your earning potential will be dependent on your ability to perform preventative maintenance and light mechanical, not limited to tires, oil changes, alignments, brakes, and suspension. While there is no limit to the amount you can earn in commission, the average effective hourly pay rate ranges between $18 to $25.00 per hour, which includes hourly rate, plus your commission, and overtime.

Mechanic/Technician Pay Range: $31.00 - $45.00/hour

Our compensation program is based on performance. Your earning potential will be dependent on your ability to perform mechanical services and repairs, not limited to front end mechanical, diagnosing, fluid exchanges, and drivability. While there is no limit to the amount you can earn in commission, the average effective hourly pay rate ranges between $31 to $45 per hour, which includes hourly rate, plus 10% labor commission, and overtime.

Driver Pay Range: $14.42 - $15.00/hour

The company offers health insurance coverage to all full-time team members through Anthem Blue Cross. There are 3 PPO plans to choose from. Our core plan includes an HRA and the company funds $1200 per employee to go towards the deductible ($2400 for family!)

Sick Leave Offered
All team members earn 1 hour of sick pay per 30 hours worked. Use limits are subject to state/local requirements and are generally between 40-48 hours per year.
Vacation Offered
Full time team members begin earning vacation after 6 months employment. They can accrue up to 40 hours in the first and second year of employment and 80 hours of vacation after completing 2 years.
Paid Holidays Offered
Full time team members are eligible for holiday pay after 6 months’ employment. The company has 6 paid holidays per year.
