What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We have a qualified Team of 20 Technicians with varying degrees of qualifications.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday through Friday 8am-5pm One Saturday Per Month

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Best Chevrolet offers all Specialty Tools for shop usage. We also offer entry level tools for Hourly Technicians however all Technicians are encouraged to create their own supply of tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Best has a newly renovated breakroom and kitchen.

How many bays does your shop have?

40 Bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?


What is your parts ordering process?

We Work within the GM Retail Inventory Management System. Most Quick service parts on on the shelves for immediate installation. We stock 1.4 million in inventories in a warehouse within a mile of our store.

What is your policy on side work?

Service Manager must review and approve all side work. Immediate family only Repair orders will be generated for tracking purposes.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We work on a first name basis within a strong family owned dealership. Most of our technician base is 10 plus years tenure on average.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Reimbursement for ASEs. Paid training for certifications and online testing.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We ask all Technicians to continue their education, be it recertifying current certs or taking new certs. Our goal is to continue growth and get all technicians to Master certification

Can you describe your performance review process?

We train and mentor daily.

What type of safety training is required?

In shop training using OSHA guidelines.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

All our Master technicians are willing and able to put extra hands and minds to use.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

SOUTH SHORE HEALTH SYSTEM For the last 30 years, BEST is proud to have a long- standing partnership with South Shore Health System. Like our business, South Shore Health System has a strong reputation for delivering quality care and service to the community – which includes BEST guests and employees. Throughout the relationship, BEST has contributed to the Ambulatory Care and Orthopedic Units of the Health System but is most proud of its purchases of life-saving equipment – including a Mobile Simulation Laboratory and a Neonatal Isolette Transporter. Best Automotive Group is a founding member of the Presidents’ Circle, South Shore Health System’s business leadership giving society which was founded in 1996.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Active advisory to all local technical schools. At any given time we have 2-3 students pursuing careers in Automotive.

We are a cutting edge facility ready to embrace the challenges of a fast paced automotive industry.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes it can be done online or in person and takes less than 10 minutes.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Phone conversations are welcome prior to scheduling a visit.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Conversations with Forman and lead technicians along with a tour of our facility

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We perform background checks and license screening.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We do not. All references are checked and work monitored for the first 90 Days

Can be immediate. No longer than a day

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $85,000 - $140,000/year

Chevrolet Master Technician Flat Rate Pay, heavily based on certifications and background. Your rate will be based on experience, ASEs, certifications, and tenure

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $75,000 - $100,000/year

Chevrolet Certified Technician working towards Master. Flat Rate Pay, heavily based on certifications and background Your rate will be based on experience, ASEs, certifications, and tenure

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $85,000/year

Experienced Technicain working towards certification Flat Rate Pay, heavily based on certifications and background Your rate will be based on experience, ASEs, certifications, and tenure

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $30,000 - $50,000/year

Hourly wage with performance spiffs. From the Hourly position we look to grow you to a Flat Rate Technician and have mentorships in place to assist with this transition.

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year

Best Automotive is hiring an experienced automotive service advisor. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE ADVISOR: Greet customers promptly Obtain customer and vehicle information Clearly report all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer Determine and recommend needed maintenance base on age, mileage and history of vehicle Prepare a complete and accurate estimate of cost for labor and parts Establish follow up time Monitor the progress of each vehicle throughout the day, and updating customers frequently Verify that the final invoice reconciles with the work performed on the car repair order Explain all completed work and charges to customer REQUIREMENTS OF THE EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE ADVISOR: Proven record of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction Past experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Assistant Lane Manager or Service Consultant Friendly and enthusiastic attitude Must be able to work in a fast pace environment A desire for a long term career with a growing organization Personal and professional integrity PBS computer experience a plus

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $18 - $20/hour

Hourly wage with performance spiffs. From the Hourly position we look to grow you to a Flat Rate Technician and have mentorships in place to assist with this transition.

Collision Technician - A Level Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000/year

5 Year Minimum as collision technician in the collision industry. Trade School or High School diploma preferred. Ability to problem solve and achieve BEST results in any condition. A smile and ability to work as part of a team. Must provide your own tools. Valid driver's license.

Collision Painter Pay Range: $80,000 - $150,000/year

Duties and responsibilities: Prepare color to match; mix color and ensure all formulations, prep, top coatings and curing times meet OEM standards for proper application, sequence and timing while ensuring minimal waste. Operate all body shop equipment properly and safely. Control, communicate, and document inventory needs. Maintaining a sense of honesty and integrity above all else while providing the BEST guest experience.
