The shop is heated in the winter time. In the summer, the shop has industrial ceiling fans and water fans.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
We have a team of 15 mechanics.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Barlow's hours are as follows - Monday and Friday 7am-5pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7am-6pm Saturday 8am-4pm Saturday Summer hours are 7am-2pm
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Barlow provides all the GM essential tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
We have a standard size break room.
How many bays does your shop have?
We have 23 bays in the auto shop.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
approx 900-1000

We place orders on a daily basis through GM.

Barlow is currently designing a review process for all positions.
What type of safety training is required?
Barlow provides Hazardous and safety training for specific job roles.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
All Apprentice are paired with a skilled, seasoned technician for approx one month to shadow. Once the Apprentice is ready to work independently, the Service Manager sets up a training path through GM.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
As a company committed to making a positive impact beyond our workplace, Barlow believes in engaging with the community and supporting causes close to our hearts. Recently, the team at Barlow enjoyed making over 100 sandwiches for a local organization who provides meals for food insecure residents of Camden, NJ. We are currently hosting a backpack and school supply drive for a local nonprofit organization who improves the quality of life for children, adults, and families living with mental illness, addiction, and/or a developmental disability. Participating in community outreach programs is a great opportunity for our team to come together to contribute time and effort to making a difference in the lives of others.

Providing excellent customer service will always be critical. Focus on building strong relationships with customers, offering convenience, and ensuring transparency in pricing and services. Barlow will assess the competitive landscape in our area and anticipate how it might change over the next five years. We will identify opportunities for differentiation and improvement to stay ahead in the market.

Our in-person interviews vary depending on the position. They typically include the hiring manager and the candidate. The hiring manager discusses the job responsibilities and asks the candidate questions regarding their experiences, as it pertains to the job.

Barlow completes a pre-employment drug screening, a physical, a motor vehicle report, and a criminal background check, after an offer of employment has been made. All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of the background checks.

Flat rate technicians earn approx. $26.00/ hr. - $39.00/ hr. based on experience.
