Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is fully climate controlled.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Technicians work individually on projects but are on a team of technicians within their department. We have technicians on the main shop team,15 Main Shops Technicians, 4 on the express team, 1 shop foreman and 1 team lead is available to assist as needed.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The shop is open Monday through Saturday, closed on Sunday, and is open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. On Saturdays we close at 5:00 pm. Technicians typically work 8 hour shifts, 5 days a week with 1 Saturday per Month. Technicians can work more than 8 hours a day and can work as many Saturdays as they want.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

-1 alignment rack -1 tire changer -1 balancers -2 off-car brake lathes -1 on car brake lathe -spring compressor -hydraulic press -BG fluid exchange machines -transmission and cradle jack -2 Hybrid Battery Lifts -Many of the Chrysler Jeep specific special tools techs will need.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Technicians have access to a break room with seating, vending machines, a refrigerator, television, and lockers.

How many bays does your shop have?

We have a total of 24 bays.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We average 1365 repair orders each month.

What is your parts ordering process?

combination of working with our parts department 4 back countermen and utilization of electronic dispatch, send your estimate to parts from your work bay computer.

What is your policy on side work?

All vehicles in shop must have a repair order associated with it. Personal work needs to be discussed and approved by service manager.

Your Mentor will work with you on a daily, weekly, monthly basis reviewing your progress all along the way

What type of safety training is required?

Annual Safety & Compliance Training for all employees provided by Crandall Corporation. Safety glasses and nitrile gloves are provided for all technicians

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We currently have 9 Chrysler Jeep Master Technicians (2 Master Diagnostic shop foreman and team lead ) and many of them mentor our Entry-Level technicians. They work directly with assigned apprentice technicians and go through a step by step onboarding process that can last up to 6 months to a year.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Our dealership donates to local school teachers and schools Toy's for Tots etc.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

YES! We partner with fantastic technician school like Wake Tech, NASCAR Technical Institute, Lincoln Tech, and well as our local high school automotive program. We visit the local high schools on a regular basis and love talking to students interested in a rewarding career in the Automotive Industry!

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, we provide an electronic application form or one you can complete at the dealership. It will take about 10-15 minutes.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

In-person interviews typically occur at our dealership where the potential hire will sit down with multiple management personnel. Typically the Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager and/or shop foreman is present for in-person interviews. A few basic questions are asked to find out what you are looking for in a dealership to see if we are a good match. You will have the opportunity to walk through our shop and talk to our technicians.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes. Background checks, driving record checks and drug testing are required

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Applicants will talk with the shop foreman or lead technician and they will review different job skills with you.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Offers are made usually with 24 hours contingent on the background and drug screens.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

48-72 hours depending on background and drug screens

A Level Technician Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00/year
