Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

YES! We will soon have the entire service shop heated and cooled via 26 package units complete with ducts directed into each bay.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

In total we have 10 service advisors currently in our service department along with over 30 technicians of varying levels. We will be adding to those numbers when our capacity increases once our remodeling is complete. We also have a separate in-house used car reconditioning team consisting of a manager, 2 advisors, a shop foreman, and 8 technicians.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Our dealership service hours are 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. We ask our technicians to be ready to work at 7:30 and work until 5:30. We may soon be looking at a version of split shifts of some kind to keep up with our workload.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide all specialty tools required by Ford. We also provide miscellaneous tools and equipment that allow us to complete repetitive or tough jobs in a more timely manner.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a dedicated breakroom complete with a full-size commercial refrigerator, full-size commercial freezer, microwave, air fryer, assorted utensils and plates, etc. There are multiple tables and an abundance of seating options, all in a climate-controlled room.

How many bays does your shop have?

Once our renovation/remodel is complete we will have 65 working bays available.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Typically we run about 600 RO's through the main shop and around 1200-1500 through our Quick Lane. We hope to increase our main shop capacity by almost double in the next few months with our increased bay availability.

What is your parts ordering process?

We currently utilize MyKaarma as our routing/tracking/MPI/estimating tool. Technicians build their quote for recommendations in the tool on their phone, tablet or PC and send it digitally to parts for quoting and ordering.

What is your policy on side work?

We allow side work on personal and family vehicles outside of shop operating hours.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We focus on a TEAM atmosphere and strive for everyone to enjoy their job at Arrow.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We offer tons of training opportunities. We believe if we want to be the best, we have to offer the best training and we try to do just that.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We want all our technicians to succeed in their careers and do everything we can to make that possible.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We continually assess our team members' performances and meet regularly about areas for improvement on both sides of the shop.

What type of safety training is required?

We ask each technician to complete safety training provided by Ford Motor Company as well as some onsite training.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We expect our Ford Senior Master techs to mentor at least one technician at all times. Knowledge must be passed down to the newer techs or valuable "know-how" will be lost. Every technician that comes into our team is assigned a mentor of some kind from day one.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We are very involved in our community. We host several community events every year and are expanding our reach monthly. We firmly believe in being a valuable part of our city and want every team member to be a part of that.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work closely with our local career focused high school programs, such as ATEMS to ensure our future teammates know they are valued and wanted.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, we like to speak with any applicants and ask a few preliminary questions before scheduling an in-person interview. This helps us make sure we make the best use of everyone's time involved.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

We try to have at least two of our service managers in each interview so we get multiple perspectives. We understand that not everyone interviews the same. We also understand that different people hear things differently at times and we like to make sure everyone on our team is going to fit with our family.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

All applicants must demonstrate the ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

3-5 days normally

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Usually about 1-2 weeks- sometimes sooner.

Technician Pay Range: $15.00 - $65.00/hour

We use a tiered structure for our technicians that is aligned with our training plan. Each certification grants the tech an additional dollar amount per flag hour. Our Quick Lane level 1 technicians start hourly at $15.00 per hour. All levels after level 1 are steps toward production based pay based on number of flag hours. Main shop technicians start at $40/FLAGHR and progressively advance as they complete training and show proficiency topping out currently at $65/FLAGHR for Ford Senior Master certified technicians.

Health Insurance Offered
Arrow Ford, Inc offers two medical plan options through Blue Cross Blue Shield - PPO for full time employees with eligibility beginning on the first day of the month, following sixty full days of employment. Full time employees are eligible to contribute to Arrow Ford, Inc's sponsored 401k Retirement Plan, beginning after sixty full days of employment. Plan options and contributions are completely customizable to your desired retirement goals. After one full year of employment, employees are eligible for Employer matching.
Sick Leave Offered
Paid sick leave is available to full time employees, on the first day of employment. The max accrual available is 48 hours each year, with renewal on the first day of January.
Vacation Offered
Full time employees are eligible for paid vacation as follows: One full year of service = 40 hours Three full years of service = 80 hours Ten full years of service = 120 hours *Employees with a minimum of 80 hours accrued are eligible to elect to sell up to 40 hours back to the Company.
