The shop has a heater and cooling fans.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

There are three other technicians.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The shop is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Technicians are expected to work five days and at least 40 hours per week.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The shop provides Snap-on scanning tools. Technicians are expected to have their own tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

There is a break room upstairs.

How many bays does your shop have?

The shop has six bays.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We average 120 repair orders per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

We order parts from local vendors, including O'Reilly, NAPA, AutoZone, and dealerships.

What is your policy on side work?

No side work is allowed.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are family-owned and operated, offering a different vibe from corporate shops.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we offer training provided by our vendors.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Technicians can increase their pay based on the amount of knowledge they are able to gain.

Can you describe your performance review process?

At the end of the year, technicians' work is reviewed for raise consideration.

What type of safety training is required?

Safety glasses and steel-toe shoes are required. Technicians must know how to properly dispose of hazardous materials and how to operate lifts and tools correctly.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

My master technician is eager to share his knowledge with younger technicians to help them excel in their abilities.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Our shop participates in Toys for Tots.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Our shop does not offer that at this time.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

We take pride in our work, as we are members of the community.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

No, we conduct in-person interviews.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Interviews are conducted by either Nate or James. A conversation is held to determine the technician’s experience and expectations and to assess if the shop is the right environment for them to thrive.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We do not perform those tests. We conduct interviews the old-fashioned way—face to face—to discuss the applicant’s background.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Yes, we have technicians perform certain repairs to determine their level of knowledge.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

A hiring decision is made within one to two days.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

The process takes about two to three days.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

Hard work and responsibility are a must. We are a small group of hardworking individuals.

A LEVEL TECHNICIAN Pay Range: $30.00 - $40.00/hour

Ten years of experience is required, along with ASE certification. Overtime is also available.
