Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Shop is heated we also have large fans to keep cool. It is a concrete building so it stays cool even in the summer.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

12 technicians 3 advisors

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

7am - 6pm Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Saturday No Sundays!

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Shop provides all special and major tools, if we don't have them we will purchase them. Technicians are required to provide their own set of basic tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Our break room facility includes a lunch room with vending machines, coffee, water, tea, tables, microwave, and refrigerator. Locally there are lots of favorite foods within a short walk/drive.

How many bays does your shop have?

16 bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

1100-1200 per month

What is your parts ordering process?

All parts are pre-ordered, pre-billed, and pre-pulled. Parts just have to be picked up at the parts counter!

What is your policy on side work?

Technicians can work on their own vehicle or family members but anything else is not allowed.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We do monthly fun events, where we provide food, raffles, and giveaways! We also do Holiday parties and team building events. Annually, we do a company wide go cart competition and rent a go cart facility. Our facility also includes a locker room for the technicians!

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we provide and pay for courses and all time spent to complete them. They include: online module testing, offsite self skills trainings, monthly trainings/tests on new products.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We have 4 different dealerships with different opportunities for growth into all areas of the business. In the hiring process we discuss career goals with candidates and its our goal to meet with and make sure employees are meeting those goals on where they want to be.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Formal process will be put into place by beginning of the 2022.

What type of safety training is required?

Annual compliance trainings.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our Shop Foreman teams up with newer, less experienced technicians on specific jobs to train. Our apprentice technicians team up with senior technician on downtime to learn more advanced jobs.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Company is very involved in monthly events with more than 25 different organizations.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work with Honda PACT program and Sno Isle high school.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Continued growth of store and building a family environment where people can come to work and know that their peers and company have their back.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

Since purchasing the dealership in Dec. 2019, we are focused on customer service and building a strong reputation for our store!

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

You can access our application form from our careers page on our website. It usually takes 2-3 minutes to complete.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Phone screens are the first step and usually take about 15-20 minutes to complete. We ask general questions to see if candidate will fit the culture of the business.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our in-person interviews include a meeting with the service manager and HR. We provide a description of role, go through candidate's background and experience, and it can include a shop tour if requested. Usually around 20-30 minutes.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We require background checks, drug screens and reference checks before hire. We also require a clean and clear driving record, and State of Washington drivers license.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Skills assessments are not required.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Usually within 24 hours.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Usually 1-2 weeks, depending on pre hire requirements.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $100,000 - $140,000/year ($48.08 - $67.31/hr)

Generous production bonus based on efficiency up to $4.50 at 150% efficient. $33-$35 per hour, Flat Rate

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $49,950 - $80,000/year ($24.01 - $38.46/hr)

Generous production bonus based on efficiency up to $4.50 at 150% efficient. $24-$32 per hour, flat rate

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $37,450 - $47,850/year ($18.00 - $23.00/hr)

Generous production bonus based on efficiency up to $2 at 100% efficient. $18-$23 per hour, flat rate

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $37,450 - $41,600/year ($18.00 - $20.00/hr)

$18-$20 per hour

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $18 - $19/hour

Part-time schedules available

Health Insurance Offered
Plan starts on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. One option with low deductibles and low out-of-pocket max. Can add spouses and children too!

Plan starts on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Two options. Can add spouses and children too!

Retirement Plan Offered
401k through Fidelity, plan starts on the first of the month following 90 days of employment. Also included are unlimited financial planning meetings with our Investment Management company.

Vacation Offered
We do a front loaded PTO system. New hires receive their first "chunk" after 90 days of employment and another "chunk" after 180 days of employment. Each year after that, on their hire date, our employees receive their full, annual amount of leave. It is tenure based and builds up to 200 hours or 5 weeks of PTO each year after 15 years of employment.
Paid Holidays Offered
All full time hourly employees are eligible for holiday pay after completing 30 days of employment.
ST / LT Disability Offered
Employer paid long term disability for full-time employees. Voluntary plans for employees to sign up for short term disability.
Life Insurance Offered
Employer paid policy for full-time employees. Additional life insurance can be added on through one of our insurance carriers.
