Parts and Inventory Associate

As the Parts and Inventory Associate you will be responsible for providing direction, coordination, and
management of parts and inventory within Highland’s enterprise asset management platform.

The Parts and Inventory Associate coordinates the efforts of the team by establishing workflow processes for new parts that ensure appropriate cross referencing and counting, and data integrity of the system.

Key responsibilities will include organization and maintenance of inventory locations and part item master data.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Develops, implements, and maintains the buildout of our EAM’s Parts, Services, and Products module
    • Oversees the upkeep of inventory accuracy and warehouse classifications within Zuper
    • Identifies and directs the implementation of parts or inventory workflows to provide structure and process improvements within the greater maintenance organization
    • Manages Parts Master database for object identifications, brand, price, unit of measure, GL account accuracy, and cross references
    • Maintains relationship with key OEM resources to manage parts supersession, back orders, and strategies around appropriate dealer stock quantities
    • Works closely with Supply Chain and Technician teams to ensure all aspects of order fulfillment, shipping, receiving and warehousing are managed timely
    • Develops, monitors, and interprets key operational metrics such as inventory level per bus, appropriate min/max levels, suggested stock items, quantity, and reorder points
    • Acts as Engineering and Maintenance’s liaison to procurement to assist in set up of commercial purchasing agreements for volume parts with prudent vendors that deliver best strategy and quality to Highland Electric Fleets.
    • Schedules and controls quarterly inventory process for all storerooms in field operation.
    • Maintains relationship to finance regarding inventory variance true ups and identification of parts inventory spend with system of record inventory system NetSuite.
    • Reviews high volume and dollar purchases quarterly to align objectives of procurement to reduce total cost of operation.

Qualifications:

    • 3+ Years parts cataloging experience with understanding of VMRS Codes,( Name, qualifier, qualifier,…) convention (Example:  BEARING, BALL, 6204ZZ/C3, SINGLE ROW, DEEP GROVE, METAL SHIELD, SEALED)and cross referencing
    • High School Diploma or GED minimum education
    • Proficient in MS office suite
    • Knowledge of ERP inventory systems and processes
    • Strong customer service skills and attitude
    • Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend process improvements
    • Electric Vehicle, Charger, or medium duty parts expertise is desirable
