Currently, our shop has 38 mainline Ford Lincoln technicians and 4 in-house quick lane technicians

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday - Friday 7:30am-6:00pm Every technician is scheduled to work every 3rd Saturday from 8:00am-5:00pm

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

All special pneumatic and power tools Hoists Powertrain tables Cherry pickers Transmission tables Mobile Column Lifts Manufacture diagnosing software (IDS, FRDS)

What type of break room facility is provided?

Attached full kitchen with vending machines. RO Water system, Ice machine, TV, and team member refrigerators and freezers

What is your parts ordering process?

Parts can be ordered directly from the technician's work station and are delivered to the technician by our parts team

What is your policy on side work?

Immediate family members' vehicles are allowed to be worked on at a discounted rate

Performance reviews are conducted quarterly with the team member's direct supervisor

Ford manufacturer safety training

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Several of our senior technicians are mentors to less experienced technicians, as well as our Ford ASSET students.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Sewell as a whole is very involved with the local community. We sponsor a copious amount of community events, as well as host several automotive and non-automotive events that our community participates in. We also have scholarship opportunities for our team members and their dependents.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Sewell participates heavily with the local high schools, as well as the local colleges. Our company donated the property and helped to build a brand new Automotive Technology building for our local high schools to utilize.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

There are many events that Sewell participates in and sponsors around the community. Every year we participate in volunteering at different charitable organizations to help those in need. We also get involved with sponsoring local entrepreneurs and their businesses to help not only our team members, but members of our community to succeed in their goals.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes. We have a dedicated technician recruiter that phone screens all potential candidates before a phone interview, or an in person interview.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our in-person or phone interviews go over the candidate's experience, their personal goals, the things that are important to them in their work environment, as well as going over our culture, style of shop, and benefits of being a part of our team.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

All team members are required to go through a background check, motor vehicle records check, and drug screening prior to their start date.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

There is no skills assessment at this time.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

3-5 business days.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Sewell recruits technicians from all over the country to join our team. As of now, we work around the candidate's schedule to conduct a phone interview (if the candidate is not local). Then, if both the candidate and the hiring manager want to move forward, we conduct the background check and drug screening (usually takes about 3 business days), then schedule the candidate a time to visit the facility and meet us in person. After the visit is complete, an offer letter or rejection letter with be delivered to the candidate in about 3 business days.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

The time it takes from the application to hiring date is different for every candidate. We do our best to work with the candidate's schedule.

A level Technician Pay Range: $45.00 - $65.00/hour

Senior Master Technician with a minimum 7 years experience in a Ford Dealership Production Bonuses Warranty Bonus Up Sell Bonuses Paid Training

B Level Technician Pay Range: $38.00 - $44.00/hour

Ford Certified Technician with minimum 5 years experience at a Ford Dealership Production Bonuses Warranty Bonus Up Sell Bonuses Paid Training

C Level Technician Pay Range: $30.00 - $37.00/hour

Automotive Technician with at least 2 years experience at a dealership. Must be able to adequately perform diagnosis and repair of customer concerns Production Bonuses Warranty Bonus Up Sell Bonuses Paid Training
