Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Yes - our shops are climate-controlled for your comfort. We also offer a variety of uniforms throughout the year to keep you comfortable working in our shop environment.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

The current size of the team is 30 team members.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The shop hours are from 7:30am-6:00pm M-F & 7:30-5:00pm every 3rd Saturday.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

All required GM Special Tools and Safety Equipment.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We offer a large breakroom with access to a full-size fridge and microwave. Within the breakroom, there are couches and different seating arrangements for additional comfort.

How many bays does your shop have?

We currently have 26 bays, but will have 38 at our new Cadillac Buick GMC campus in March 2026.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

1,250

What is your parts ordering process?

We have a next-day ordering process when available.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work is NOT allowed at our Cadillac Buick GMC dealership.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We will be moving into a brand new facility in March 2026 with climate-controlled bays and integrated tool boxes with brand new equipment and state of the art lighting.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Sponsor outside events throughout the year and host internal growth and team building events throughout the year. Tech Appreciation events and Top Performer award events annually. 

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We sponsor GM ASEP courses through our local community college, Odessa College. This program affords students the opportunity to gain master-level technician certificates for GM brands within 2 years. We provide the first semester free of charge, and for every semester afterwards students earn 100% tuition reimbursement for obtaining A's and 50% tuition reimbursement for earning B's - we don't reward C's-F's.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our in-person interviews are comprised of a series of questions asked by our Dealership Service Manager and Director of Service for the Organization. The hiring team asks a series of questions, including topics of basic mechanical knowledge, diagnostic & troubleshooting, electrical systems, safety & shop practices, and customer interaction & ethics.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We perform background checks, drug screenings, and personality tests before the candidate is invited to an in-person visit to our dealerships.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Yes, we typically ask all skill assessment questions during the 2nd interview with the service manager and director of service to gauge competency before making a decision to bring a candidate out to the West Texas area to visit our dealerships.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Candidates should know of a decision to hire within 48-72 hours of their in-person visit to our dealerships, after the 2nd interview has concluded.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

For technicians, the hiring process takes anywhere from 3-6 weeks from the time of submitting an application to the time of hiring decision. We want to ensure that this decision is the best for the candidate and any family they bring to the area.

GM Certified Technician Pay Range: $30.00 - $75.00/hour

2-5 years experience in dealership = $30-45/FGH 5+ years experience in dealership = $45-75/FGH Master Tech and World-Class Tech certs yield higher pay rate per flag hour.
