Shop is heated and air conditioned.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
We currently have 12 flat-rate technicians, 3 apprentice technicians, and 1 mobile tech.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Service department is open Mon-Fri 7:30 AM-6 PM. Saturdays hours are 8 AM-4 PM
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Technicians supply their own general tools and the dealership has specialty/manufacturer tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Break room amenities include refrigerators, microwaves, coffee, oven, toaster oven, filtered water, & ice machine.
How many bays does your shop have?
The shop currently has 23 above ground lifts, 1 four post, and 1 Hunter flush mount alignment rack.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
For 2024 we averaged 780 RO's per month
What is your parts ordering process?
We have a high in-stock fill rate on JLR parts and the ability to overnight when needed from multiple JLR parts distribution centers.
What is your policy on side work?
Every vehicle being worked on in the shop has a repair order and labor/parts billed as appropriate.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Land Rover offers extensive online training resources for technicians and required quarterly recertifications. The Shop Foreman reviews training paths and we send technicians to Land Rover Learning Centers for courses that are instructor led.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We foster career growth and reward those who have the aptitude and drive to develop their skills and knowledge. We believe from promoting from within and encourage employees to expand their skills.
Can you describe your performance review process?
We meet to discuss performance and expectations, recognizing achievements and coaching to improve deficiencies.
What type of safety training is required?
Safety is a priority and we have many annual requirements to ensure proper training. All new employees must take a safety training on their first day and annually thereafter.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Apprentice technicians are matched with a Master Technician to develop the skills and work habits to build a successful career.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
Fields Auto Group supports and is involved in several fundraiser initiatives and non profits in all the communities that we are in.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We work with local technical colleges giving tours, answering questions, and hiring graduates.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
While we typically like to meet in-person, we do offer phone screens in cases of geographical distances or other circumstances that would make in-person more difficult.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Our in-person interview is an opportunity to meet the team, see the facility, discuss the details of the position, and generally see if it is mutually a good fit.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
We require a copy of driving record to ensure insurability, along with background screening.

We do not.

We typically try to move quickly for qualified applicants to extend a job offer and move forward with screening.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
7-10 days would be a typical timeline for application, interview, and consideration of all applicants.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $60.00/hour
