What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

1 Service Director 1 Parts Director 4 Service Advisors 10 Technicians 2 Parts Specialists 4 Support Staff 5 Detail department members 1 Inventory Manager

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

8am to 6pm Monday thru Friday 9am to 4pm Saturdays Service Advisors work M-F and 1 Saturday per month, with the following Friday off when working a Saturday. Technicians work 8-5 M-F and 1 5-6p shift in a 10-day rotation. Technicians work 1 Saturday per month. Support Staff work a 40-hour work week with pre-scheduled hours.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Ferrari & Maserati specialty tools and computers provided. Technicians provide their own toolbox and tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

In shop break room with tables, chairs, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine provided.

How many bays does your shop have?

The shop currently has 18 lifts one alignment machine and several flat bays.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Between Ferrari and Maserati, we average approximately 350 repair orders per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

Technicians utilize an internal messaging system to request parts from the parts department. In stock parts are delivered to the technician per request Parts that have to be ordered are communicated back to the technician and advisor with estimated time of arrival.

What is your policy on side work?

No side work is allowed at any time.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Manufacturer training requirements must be met within the first year of employment.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Manufacture training consists of 40+ hours of web training, an additional 80+ hours of live online training, and 10 to 15 days of in person training at the manufacture location in the USA.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Monthly 1 on 1 performance reviews. Mid-Month follow up. In depth annual review with Service Director.

What type of safety training is required?

OSHA training is required within the first week of hire.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

The Shop Foreman and Senior Technicians are always more than happy to help when any questions about diagnosis or repairs come up.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We sponsor many local events throughout the year.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We currently don't have any programs with local High schools.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

With the amount of New and Pre-owned vehicles sold over the last few years we see our Service business growing even more.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

We have a traditional application to be completed after initial in person interview.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

No

What do your in-person interviews entail?

In person interview includes a short presentation of the culture at Boardwalk Ferrari / Maserati. Then a walk through of the fixed operations department. Q&A during the walk through.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

A clean MVR is required to move forward in the screening process. An over the phone interview with the Cole Group is next. Schedule a drug test is next. Additional in person interviews after above steps are completed.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

2 weeks or less.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

7-10 business days.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

You MUST be able to naturally find a way to say Yes!

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $35 - $46/hour

Technicians are paid an hourly rate for work performed. There is a monthly bonus based upon actual production hours closed. These bonuses range from $2.00 up to $6.00 per closed flag hour retroactive for the entire month!

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $25 - $29/year

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $18 - $24/year

Support Staff Pay Range: $12 - $18/hour

Support Staff are paid an hourly rate for hours worked during a 40-hour work week 1 hour lunch
