Under The Hood
Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Our shop is currently only heated, but future air conditioning plans are possible.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
Currently, three technicians are working in the shop, with space for more!
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
The shop is open from 7 AM until 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We have various specialty tools, alignment machine, tire changer and balancer, R134A and R1234YF machines, and many more!
What type of break room facility is provided?
Fully equipped break room with all kitchen appliances, refrigerator space, and tables and chairs.
How many bays does your shop have?
We have four lifts and four flat stalls with plans for additional lifts.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
Typically between 150-200.
What is your parts ordering process?
We use our integrated parts ordering system in Mitchell1 TeamWorks. Technicians have access to ProDemand, RepairLink, and PartsTech.
What is your policy on side work?
We do not allow employees to work on non-employee-owned vehicles for personal compensation during or outside regular business hours. Technicians can, however, use lifts or shop equipment to repair personal vehicles outside of business hours in some instances.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
All on-site training is provided by the ASE Master Technician on staff. Any Education or class-based training programs are offered at the discretion of the Automotive Manager.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We firmly believe in the growth and development of our team members. Career growth is based on the aggressive initiative taken by our team members, and we are there to assist you in any way possible, i.e. (Education, hours, on-call service, tool loan programs, 401k eligibility)
Can you describe your performance review process?
We typically offer a 30-day introductory period Evaluation (Pay increase not guaranteed). All other Evaluations can range from 30 days to a yearly evaluation. If team members continue to go the extra mile and provide exceptional results, all evaluations can be given at any time before the following time frames if they are earned. At Bodine-Scott Automotive, we feel that if individuals can continue to invest in themselves and grow, we provide incentives and one-on-one support.
What type of safety training is required?
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training. Machine Guarding: Training on the safe operation of machinery and equipment, including understanding the importance of guards and safety interlocks. Electrical Safety: Education on safe practices for electrical systems, including lockout/tagout procedures. Vehicle Safety: Specific training related to safe driving practices, vehicle maintenance, and operation of automotive equipment.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We encourage senior techs to take the initiative to train junior techs. We believe in giving everyone an equal opportunity to learn and master their craft.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We aim to provide exceptional automotive service to our community through automotive techs who collectively bring over 30 years of knowledge to the table.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We attend any meetings and graduations that are aligned with company availability.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
If needed, we allow for phone screening before in-person interviews.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Filling out an A/C Distribution, Inc. application. Explanation of prior work history (understanding the reason behind the applicants' current job status). Field-specific related questions.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Background and MVR before hiring. Drug Screening during the onboarding process.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
All skills assessment tests, if any, will be during the 30-day introductory period with the company. Any other skills assessments that are required will be communicated prior to the onboarding process.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
The maximum time frame is 1-2 days. Typically, a response is sent on the same day as the interview.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
1-3 days. Applicant/New hires' availability can affect this time frame.
Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?
It is a very smooth and easy process that is guided step by step by the hiring manager.
A Level Technician
Pay Range: $25.00 - $40.00/hour
5+ Years of experience. The rate is also based on the number of ASE certifications or master-level status. A minimum G1 or A1 is required.
B Level Technician
Pay Range: $18.00 - $24.00/hour
2-4 Years of experience. ASE certifications are not required; G1 certification is preferred.
C Level Technician
Pay Range: $10.00 - $16.00/hour
0-1 Years of experience.
Tire and Lube Technician
Pay Range: $10.00 - $14.00/hour
Minimum 1 year experience.

- Retirement plan is provided through a 401k that has employer matching per pay period when the following requirements are met: 1. At least 1 year of employment at the time of the enrolment period 2. Performed at least 1000 hours of service at the time of enrollment after 1 year employment completion

- Sick Leave is not offered but our company offers flexible schedules. Once vacation hours are accrued employee has the opportunity to use those hours for sick leave. Excuses are required in the event an employee needs time of for health purposes.

- Paid Holidays Offered
- Paid holidays are granted at 8 hours at straight time paid. Employees may have the opportunity to work on holidays if granted by there supervisor. Overtime will only be included in the event the employees work physical working hours on the week of a holiday.
