Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Yes, our shop is equipped with a heating system. We do not have AC in the shop but we do have industrial size fans and supply techs with beverages during the hot days.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We have a big team at this location with a total of 44 techs on hand between all the shifts.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We operate 24 hours Monday through Friday and weekends from 6am-4pm 1st- 6-3pm 2nd 3pm-12am 3rd 8pm-6am

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide all the bigger tools you would need as well as any specialty tooling that jobs might acquire. If there is tool that you need, and we might not have we will get the tooling you need to complete that job.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a large breakroom with tables and chairs to eat at as well as lounge chairs to relax in. We have multiple microwave's, toaster and fridge for your food. There is a TV and a communication board to keep up to date on how the dealer is doing.

How many bays does your shop have?

There is 11 drive-through doors with a total of 20 bays to work in.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Our facility does anywhere between 300-600 work order a month! So, if you looking to stay busy we are the place for you!

What is your parts ordering process?

The technician utilizes UPTIME. What is UPTIME? It is a hub on a browser to streamline communication between tech, parts, and their foreman. A technician will put a part request in, then the parts team will respond and let the tech know if we have parts in stock or if they need to be ordered.

What is your policy on side work?

There is a policy in place for not working on any Daimler products.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are always looking for way to improve and move forward so things are always advancing. We do lunches, have employee events, and host weekly huddles to keep you up to date on changes around the dealership!

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We actually have our own training facility! You would start here to learn basics, depending on the way you onboard with us there are different options for training. Where you would learn basic electric, heavy duty, HVAC systems and much more!

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

With the rapid growth of the business there is always room for growth. You can work your way up to service advisor, communicator, foreman and further! We like to promote from within!

Can you describe your performance review process?

The process for this is we have you complete a survey and let us know how you think you are doing as well as the management. Management then does the same survey and will have a discussion with you on each subject.

What type of safety training is required?

There is online training followed up by some onsite training.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We provide direct coaching for techs who may be new in the industry. We partner individuals with a mentor to ensure they are receiving guidance and have direct lines of communication.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Our shop takes pride in being an active part of our local community. We participate in various events. Our team volunteers at local high schools and technical colleges to offer career talks and hands-on demonstrations, helping students explore opportunities in the diesel industry.

Yes, we are actively involved with local high schools and technical colleges to encourage students to explore careers in the diesel industry. We participate in career fairs and offer presentations about opportunities in our field. Our shop offers mentorship programs where students can learn directly from our experienced technicians, giving them practical skills and a real-world understanding of the profession. We typically like to have a two-week window from accepted offer to start date.

Diesel Technician Pay Range: $18.00 - $45.00/hour

Modified Flat Rate

Health Insurance Offered
We offer a major medical policy to all Full-time, hourly employees immediately upon hire to help "bridge" a gap in health insurance. After 90 days of employment, standard medical insurance (PPO or High Deductible) is available to all Full-time hourly employees.
Dental Insurance Offered
We offer a dental plan to all Full-time, hourly employees, after completion of 90 days of employment.
Vision Insurance Offered
Vision Insurance is included with the standard medical policy.
Retirement Plan Offered
McCoy Group offers a competitive 401(k) retirement plan to full-time employees. Upon becoming eligible to participate, you will receive an enrollment packet and PIN letter from our plan trustee, Principal Financial Group. Employees are automatically enrolled at a contribution rate of 6% in a target fund based on their birth year; however, you have the option to waive participation or elect alternate funds and/or deferral rates at any point in time after you become eligible for the plan.

Paid Holidays Offered
Full-Time employees will receive six(6) designated holidays each year. Hourly employees whose employment commences during a holiday week will not be paid for the holiday. To qualify for holiday pay, the employee must work their scheduled shift the days immediately before and following the holiday unless an absence has been approved. The paid holidays are: 1.New Year’s Day 2.Memorial Day 3.Independence Day 4.Labor Day 5.Thanksgiving Day 6.Christmas Day

The McCoy Group offers Short-Term Disability Insurance to all Full-Time employees after 90 days of employment Regular, Full-Time employees are eligible after three (3) years of employment for Long-term Disability.

Uniforms Offered
Uniforms are provided at no cost. We also offer assistance for those employees who are required to purchase prescription safety glasses and safety shoes. Each tech is given a laptop for work purposes.
Other Offered
All regular full-time employees are eligible for Bereavement leave, after 90 days of continuous full-time service. Full-Time employees are eligible for Jury Duty, after 90 days of continuous Full-Time service.
