About Us

Toyota of Renton is located in the heart of Renton WA at the end of Highway 167. We have been a part of the O'Brien Auto Group family since 2012. Our shop has 35 bays with an average of 4,700 - 4,800 hours per month in our shop. We team with our local Toyota TXM Program to train our hourly technicians to become Flat Rate.

Monday - Saturday 7:00am - 6:00pm Shifts can vary based on business needs

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Toyota of Renton offers all Specialty Tools for shop usage. Toyota of Renton offers entry level tools for Hourly Technicians however all Technicians are encouraged to create their own supply of tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Toyota of Renton offers a lunchroom off the shop. We request all employees to take a meal period away from their bay.

We ask all Technicians to continue their education, be it recertifying current certs or taking new certs. Our goal is to continue growth and get all technicians to Master certification

No set review process. Talk to and evaluate techs. as the year goes by.

What type of safety training is required?

None

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We will pair a younger technician up with one of our senior technicians to help them learn the processes and gain knowledge of the product they are working with.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Toyota of Renton has been and continues to give back to their community by supporting local charities and schools.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Toyota of Renton has a good relationship with numerous Tech Schools and local high schools teaming to show the opportunity for growth in our industry.

Continued growth with more hours based off our trends and Open Service Drive.

Motor Vehicle Reports review any moving violation within the last 3 years and our Insurance company is extremely strict.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $50,000 - $100,000/year ($24.04 - $48.08/hr)

Flat Rate or hourly pay. Based on experience, ASEs, Toyota Certifications

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $35,000 - $75,000/year

Flat Rate or hourly pay. Based on experience, ASEs, Toyota Certifications

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $25,000 - $40,000/year ($12.02 - $19.23/hr)

Hourly pay, based on experience, ASEs, Toyota Certifications

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $45,000 - $100,000/year

Advisors new to the drive and writing can be on the lower end of the list above, however with the Open Service Drive there are abilities to make $100,000+ a year.
