Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is heated with a top of the line heating and filtration system. The shop is not equipped with air conditioning but the ventilation and location keep it cooler during the summer months.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We currently have 37 Technicians working in our shop.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We are open in the service department from 7am to 7pm. The shift time frames are: 7am-4pm 8am-5pm 9am-6pm

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We have too many to list here, we have an entire room dedicated to storing tools for technicians to use to complete their jobs.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a large break room with a flat screen TV mounted and an Avanti market. We have recently opened our cafe/deli for employees and guest's

How many bays does your shop have?

54 service bays 2 alignment bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

3,900+

What is your parts ordering process?

We have two full time back parts counter professionals to assist technicians with procurement of parts.

What is your policy on side work?

We have a shop night the third Thursday of every month for the technicians to work on their own vehicles or family member vehicles.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Paid for passing ASEs Paid training for certifications Partnership with Toyota TXM Partnership with local community college We do offer a mentorship program for our up and coming technicians.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We as a company believe in continuous improvement through knowledge. We believe in promoting and moving up from within. We offer paid schooling and classes to qualifying technicians.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Hours produced are monitored daily.

What type of safety training is required?

We operate our safety procedures according to OSHA standards and will train new employees on our procedures.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We will pair a younger technician up with one of our senior technicians to help them learn the processes and gain knowledge of the product they are working with.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We get involved with the community through food drives, clothing drives and toy drives during the holidays.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We have adopted a local High School, and are working with them through recruiting and job programs.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Inquiring about work history, where the candidate would like to be within two years of starting work with our company. A tour of the facility and introduction to the General Manager as well as the Assistant Service Manager.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We perform a background check and a driving history check.

A Level Technician Pay Range: $82,000.00 - $95,000.00/year

Pay is structured on ASE qualifications

B Level Technician Pay Range: $58,000.00 - $65,000.00/year

Pay is structured on ASE qualifications

C Level Technician Pay Range: $42,000.00 - $48,000.00/year

Pay is structured on ASE qualifications

Service Advisor Pay Range: $40,000.00 - $90,000.00/year

Salary plus commission pay scale

Lube Technician Pay Range: $39,000.00 - $43,200.00/year

Vision Insurance Offered

Up to $200 every 24 months for Lenses/Frames/Contacts
Retirement Plan Offered
O'Brien Auto Group offers all Full Time employees who are over 21 of 401(k) plan. The plan offers the typical 401(k) but also Roth options. Eligibility happens the 1st of the quarter after 1 year of employment. Example, if you start on May 20th 2021, you would be eligible for the plan July 1st 2022. We offer a company match with a vesting period.
Sick Leave Offered
O'Brien Auto Group offer employees sick leave outlined by the state. Eligibility is immediate, however you are not eligible to draw down your balance until your 1st payroll after 90 days of employment.
Vacation Offered
O'Brien Auto Group offers all Full Time employees Vacation. Eligibility requirements are Full Time employment and 1 full year of service. After 1 year of employment you are eligible for 40 hours of vacation to be used during your Anniversary Year. After 7 years of employment you are eligible for 80 hours of vacation.
Paid Holidays Offered
O'Brien Auto Group offers all Full Time employees paid holidays. Holidays are determined each year and announced to employees. Eligibility happens the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment. All employees must work the day before and the day after the Holiday to be eligible.
ST / LT Disability Offered
O'Brien Auto Group offers all Full Time employees Ancillary Life Insurance with Lincoln Financial Group. Eligibility happens the 1st of the month after 13 months of employment. Example, if you start on April 15th, you would be eligible for the plan May 1st of the following year.
