What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
For the Shop we currently have 20: 17 techs, 2 painters, 1 Shop utility. For the Field we currently have 55 and are continuing to grow.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Shop Hours: 5:00am-4:00pm. Some employees work 8,10, and 11 hour schedules
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We provide a basic toolkit that consists of everything you need that is issued on an individual level. In the shop for everyone to share we have a tool cage which can provide next level tools to complete jobs - software systems, testing kits, specialty sockets, and all other specialty tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
The building offers a shared lunchroom which includes tables, vending machines, refrigerators, microwaves, a popcorn machine and a coffee/espresso machine

200+ in the Shop
What is your parts ordering process?
A technician has an excel workbook that they enter work orders and parts required to complete a job. The workbook is emailed to a shared inbox at the parts department to service accordingly. The Parts Dept will deliver the requested parts to the shop techs every hour.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
We have a Battery Room - specifically designed room for testing and repairing industrial batteries.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Raymond West offers internal trainings as well as tuition reimbursement and loan repayment for continuing education.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
Everyone all the way up to our Regional Directors of Service started in a van and were promoted. Apprentices grow into Field Service Technicians who have the opportunity to grow into Team Leads to Service Supervisors to District Service Managers to Regional Service Managers to Directors of Service. We're currently looking to add a path for career growth for those individuals who do not want to take a leadership route.

Raymond West provides annual reviews which will also include merit increases.
What type of safety training is required?
Raymond provides: - Operator Safety Training - Aerial Lift Safety Training (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) - E-Learning 1 year and E-Learning 3 year Raymond Safety Certification - Blocking and Chaining Safety Training - Safe driving E-Learning Course
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Apprentice Technicians shadow veteran technicians to get a better understanding of how to complete repairs, handle questions from customers, do paperwork, etc.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
The two most publicized events are: - Pink Pallet Jack Auction: Raymond auctions off a Pink Pallet Jack to the highest bidder and all proceeds go to breast cancer awareness organizations - Operation Santa's Supply Chain: Raymond employees purchase and build new bicycles to donate to children during the holidays as well as contribute to other toy and food drives
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We enjoy doing classroom presentations as well as offer early employment to students to work part-time in our facility while they finish their schooling.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
We do video interviews before doing in-person interviews.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
In-person interviews entail diving into your background, learning a little more about your mechanical aptitude, personality and skillset.

Yes
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
Yes it's a mechanical aptitude assessment that takes approximately 10-15 minutes that can be completed on a computer.

Technician Compensation
Pay Range: $21.00 - $37.00/hour
Raymond West has built a pay chart which breaks down compensation based on the position, location, experience, and trainings completed. We also provide a bonus program, merit increases, profit sharing, and referral program to add more to our already competitive wages.
