What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Medium duty team: 13 Heavy duty team: 17 Body shop team: 15

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

7:00am-12:00am (Very flexible with shift) 7:00am-12:00pm There are several different options available for shifts. We do the best we can to stay flexible with our employee's schedule.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

All OEM specific tools, and a lot of the heavier equipment as well.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Fridge, microwave, table, chairs, (2 break rooms)

How many bays does your shop have?

44 Total

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Heavy equipment repairs: 400

What is your parts ordering process?

Tech will write up each repair using our in-house computer program. That will go to both the parts department and a service advisor to get approved. Parts department will pull or order all parts needed to complete repairs.

What is your policy on side work?

Employee's can hold an outside job as long as in doesn't interfere with the techs performance or standards with the company.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We've hard to change the culture in shops to fit what our employees are looking for. We look to keep all of our teams happy, and start building on the next generations of technicians.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We provide all levels of OEM training. OEM training, and online training is paid for by our company. We also offer tuition, and certification reimbursement in some circumstances.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We develop a document and plan for each new hire. This document contains a career path for the technician. Our goal is to help them become master technicians if that's what the tech wants. We will provide any necessary resources to help achieve that goal.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We conduct annual reviews, and 90 day reviews for our technicians. The main focus point is their development plan. Reviewing what has been achieved, and what's the next steps in the plan.

What type of safety training is required?

No formal safety training.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Technicians of similar ages will be partnered up in our program. They will work side-by-side through repairs for the first two weeks of employment. The more experienced technician will be available to answer any additional questions. When the junior tech is ready they will be eased in to working on their own.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Participation in Special Olympics, Chamber of Commerce, and local trucking organizations.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We try and get involved as much as possible. We work with 15 different high schools/tech schools in our local area. We provide career related activities they can participate in, student walk-throughs to give them an idea of how a shop operates on a daily basis, summer camps they can participate in and dealership events.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Currently we are looking to develop a really strong tech base for all of our locations. We are always focusing on technology, and how to stay modern with our changing industry.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

We want to build all of our technicians up and help improve their skill sets. Helping our employee's achieve their career goals is as important to us as it is to them. We treat every employee is a way that makes them want to stay and continue their career with us.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

5 minute application process with general, standard information to fill out.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Our corporate recruiter can do a phone screen if needed. We would prefer to have in-person interviews if possible. Discussion on the call include the technicians mechanical aptitude, driving record, background, and getting to know the technician.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Any member of our management could be involved with the in-person interviews depending on what position is getting hired. We really like to get to know the candidate, discuss what they are looking for, judge their level of interest, talk about job history, and take a deeper dive into their skill set.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Background check, drug screen, and driving record prior to employment.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We do have an aptitude and/or knowledge test that can be taken. This is not required but can help us determine where the candidate stands with their skill set.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Offer letter will be within 24 hours.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Within a week

We try and provide a relaxed interview and hiring process. There will be open communication throughout the process with the candidate to keep them comfortable.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $95,000.00/year

This pay range is based on Master skill level. Can include overtime. Can vary based on attendance, performance and efficiency Flat-rate pay structure based on experience, certifications, skill set Salary can vary per location based on local cost of living.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00/year

This pay range is based on approaching Master skill level or equivalent experience. Can include overtime. Hourly rate can vary based on attendance, performance and efficiency Flat-rate pay structure based on experience, certifications, skill set Salary can vary per location based on local cost of living.

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $36,000.00 - $45,000.00/year

This pay range is based entry or novice level technician. Can include overtime. Can vary based on attendance, performance and efficiency Flat-rate pay structure based on experience, certifications, skill set Salary can vary per location based on local cost of living.

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.00/hour

Collision Technician - A Level Pay Range: $36,000.00 - $75,000.00/year

This pay range can vary based on experience, training or a combination of both. Can include overtime. Can vary based on attendance, performance and efficiency Flat-rate pay structure based on experience, certifications, skill set Salary can vary per location based on local cost of living.

Collision Painter Pay Range: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00/year

This pay range can vary based on experience, training or a combination of both. Can include overtime. Can vary based on attendance, performance and efficiency Flat-rate pay structure based on experience, certifications, skill set Salary can vary per location based on local cost of living.
