What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Shop hours: Monday - Friday 7 am - 7 pm and Saturdays 7 am - 6 pm 4 day work week
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Our shop is equipped with state-of-the-art scanning and diagnostic technology, hydraulic lifts and stands, two advanced alignment systems, an innovative loading and dispatching system, and the latest specialized OEM tools. Technicians are required to provide their own set of personal tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Each shop has dedicated break rooms with amenities such as refrigerators, microwaves, and vending machines for our employees’ comfort and convenience.
How many bays does your shop have?
Our facility has 75+ Bays
How many repair orders do you average per month?
We are a high-volume dealership - over 300 vehicles can be seen in one day.
What is your parts ordering process?
Parts not in stock are ordered daily with most arriving overnight.
What is your policy on side work?
We do not allow side work is to be done inside the shop.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
Our shop is designed to provide a great work experience for our team members Our shop layout is designed with dedicated bays for specific service types, improving workflow efficiency. We also have LED lighting throughout the shop for excellent visibility, state-of-the-art scanning and diagnostic equipment and a full-time staff member is responsible for keeping the shop clean.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We are committed to ensuring our technicians obtain ASE certifications and receive ongoing education to enhance their skills and expertise.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We foster an environment for the professional development of our technicians. They have the opportunity to advance to the position of Master Level Technician. In addition, we encourage those interested in other positions, such as Service Advisor or Shop Foreman, to partner with their manager to discuss the necessary steps for achieving their career goals.

Our shop foreman and service manager supervise daily operations to ensure high customer satisfaction, fostering an environment of excellence in service delivery.
What type of safety training is required?
Safety training occurs on the first day of employment during the Orientation and Onboarding process and annually to reinforce safe practices among employees
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We have implemented an internal mentorship program to enhance professional development. Junior technicians are paired with senior technicians as they develop their skills and demonstrate proficiency in their current roles. This collaboration enhances their expertise and drives success within our team.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We are committed to positively impacting our community through partnerships with leading organizations like the United Way, San Antonio Food Bank, and Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Each year, United Way makes its way to our dealerships' showroom floors and showcases those in need and provides a simple way to donate. With the growth of our organization across Texas and into Oklahoma, Cavender Auto Family’s United Way Campaign reach is wide and impacts thousands of families in many ways. Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We actively engage with local schools, visiting them to highlight various opportunities in this field and to discuss the different career paths available to students.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, our recruiting team will contact each candidate for a phone screen or virtual meeting.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Interviews will take place with our Shop Foreman or Service Director. The meeting will be anywhere between 15-30 minutes and then each candidate would have opportunities to ask any questions they see fit.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Yes, all candidates will have to complete a pre-employment screen after an offer prior to their start date. (Background, Driving Record, and Drug Screen)

Pay Range: $19.00 - $19.00/hour
$19.00 hr flat rate ($1.00 hr in available bonuses)
Level 2 Technician
Pay Range: $21.00 - $22.00/hour
$21-22 hr flat rate ($2.50 hr in available bonuses)
Toyota Certified Technician
Pay Range: $25.00 - $29.00/hour
$25-29 hr flat rate ($3.00 hr in available bonuses)
Toyota Expert Technician
Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00/hour
$30-35 hr flat rate ($3.00 hr in available bonuses)
Master Technician
Pay Range: $36.00 - $39.00/hour

- PERSONAL TIME OFF (PTO) PTO is accrued upon hire or transfers into a benefits eligible position and will be available for use after 90 days of full time employment. Eligible employees must be scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week on a regular basis. Accrual and payment of PTO All full time employees except commission-paid sales personnel accrue PTO at the rate of ½ day per month to a maximum accumulation of 5 days in their first calendar year of employment.

- PAID VACATION POLICY All full-time employees who have successfully completed their introductory period are eligible to qualify for vacation benefits. The length of vacation given to employees depends on their number of years of service and will be awarded on the employee’s anniversary date. The vacation benefits are as follows: • After 6 months of continuous service: 5 days of vacation benefits • After 1 year of continuous service: 10 days of vacation benefits • After 7 years of continuous service: 15 days of vacation benefits

- VOLUNTARY SHORT TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE (STD) Full-time employees may purchase STD insurance. In the event you become disable from a non-work related injury or sickness, disability income benefits are provided as a source of income. You are not eligible to receive STD benefits if you are receiving workers’ compensation benefits. VOLUNTARY LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE (STD) Full-time employees may purchase LTD insurance. In the event you become disable from a non-work related injury or sickness, disability income benefits are provided as a source of income. - VOLUNTARY LIFE INSURANCE Employees who want to supplement their group life insurance benefits may purchase additional coverage. When you enroll yourself and/or your dependents in this benefit, you pay the full cost through payroll deductions. • Employee Coverage is available in $25,000 increments up to $100,000. • Spouse Your Spouse is eligible to elect coverage up to 50% of the amount you (Cavender Employee) have elected. • Children (6 months to age 25 years) Dependent Child(ren) is eligible for up to 10% of the employee’s approved amount to a maximum of $10,000.

- Every employee is provided uniforms at a discounted rate and taken from their paycheck up to 4 pay cycles

- All full-time regular employees (normally working a minimum of 30 hours per week) are eligible to participate in the Plan on the 1st day of the month 60 days of regular full-time employment. An employee who is not actively at work for any reason other than due to medical disability on his scheduled effective date of coverage will not become covered under the Plan until such time as the employee returns to active employment. Your dependents eligible for coverage include: Your legal spouse; Your common-law spouse (documentation required); and Your dependent children who are: ▪ under age 26; ▪ any age if the child lives with you and became physically or mentally handicapped before reaching age 19 with the proper documentation. Your children include your: natural and legally adopted children stepchildren foster children any child for whom you are legal guardian. Proper documentation may be required.
