Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Our shop is heated and air conditioned. The temperature is kept at 72 degrees year round.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Our shop is designed to work as a complete team that compliments each individuals strengths. These groups are designed to assist each other when needed.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The service department is open Monday thru Friday from 7:30am-6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am-4:00pm Full line techs work Monday - Friday from 7:30am-5:30pm. No Saturdays Maintenance and Entry level techs are from 8:00am-5:00pm Monday thru Friday and work every other Saturday from 8:00am-4:00pm.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We have over $300k in Audi specialty tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

The break room has 2 tables, 8 chairs, microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator and water cooler.

How many bays does your shop have?

Currently we have 18 bays. 16 in ground lifts, 2 alignment racks and 2 wash bays. We are getting a reface in October that will add 2 in ground lifts for a total of 20 technician bays and 4 exterior wash bays.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We average 800 repair orders per month. Currently we have a several week waiting list of clients scheduling appointments. With additional technicians we could easily accommodate 1000 repair orders per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

Majority of our parts are shipped over night.

What is your policy on side work?

Technicians are able to work on their immediate family members vehicles.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We have a very strong team that works very well together. If you are willing to be part of a team this would be the place for you!!!

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Being an Audi franchised dealer, we are able to take full advantage of all technical training that Audi offers. There is online and in person training available to every technician. They offer classes from basic alignments to Audi Master Guild certification (highest Audi Certification available).

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Our career growth is solely based on each individuals abilities. If you have the desire to improve your skills through training, we are willing to assist you in every aspect.

Can you describe your performance review process?

A technician works directly with a mentor / lead tech and is evaluated monthly. There is an annual review that is performed with the Shop Foreman and or Service Manager.

What type of safety training is required?

We have an annual safety training that is required. This encompasses fire, chemicals and overall safety in the workplace.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

All technicians have been mentored or assisted by more experienced technicians during their career. The expectation in our facility is that there is always going to be an opportunity to mentor a lesser experienced tech.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We participate in annual food drives for our local community, the Toys for Tots program and local charities.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

A couple times a year we offer students and their parents from the local schools to come in and participate in a open house. During this time they are able to ask questions and have the opportunity to meet some of the technicians that are already employed by Leith Automotive.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Audi being one of the top luxury car lines, I anticipate that we will exceed 25 technicians, 8 service advisors and 1500 repair orders monthly.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

Audi offers one of the best apprenticeship programs available at no cost to the student / graduate from an automotive program. The Audi Education Program (AEP) is designed to give technicians, that have graduated from an accredited automotive program, the opportunity to be an Expert level technician within 18 months of starting the course. This is an expedited program that is beneficial to everyone involved from the student to the dealership and Audi.

Yes, we provide an electronic application form or one you can complete at the dealership. It will take about 10-15 minutes.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

In-person interviews typically occur at our dealership where the potential hire will sit down with multiple management personnel. Typically the Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager and/or shop foreman is present for in-person interviews. A few basic questions are asked to find out what you are looking for in a dealership to see if we are a good match. You will have the opportunity to walk through our shop and talk to our technicians.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes. Background checks, driving record checks and drug testing are required

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Applicants will talk with the shop foreman or lead technician and they will review different job skills with you.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Offers are made usually with 24 hours contingent on the background and drug screens.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

48-72 hours depending on background and drug screens

Experienced Technician Pay Range: $46,000.00 - $100,000.00/year

Pay will be based on experience and certifications. Line techs with the ability to perform any repair and diagnostics currently DO NOT work Saturdays. Do you live out of town or state...We will assist in relocation expenses.

Service Advisor Pay Range: $40,000.00 - $90,000.00/year

Salary is based on experience Every other Saturday is required

Student Tech / Apprentice Pay Range: $13.00 - $20.00/hour

Pay is based on your current school status We have full and part time positions available Tuition reimbursement for current students Relocation assistance available
