Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We do our best to promote within and allow employees to grow into the positions they are striving for. We have had some technicians move into the shop foreman roles. Almost every single manager here has worked their way up to be in the role they are in now. A good thing to ask tenured co-workers / managers is where they started.... this really encourages ones motivation to succeed.
Can you describe your performance review process?
We complete a 90-day review from the date of hire and an annual review from there on. Employees are encouraged to complete a self-evaluation form for each review to provide some feedback and goals they would like to work towards.
What type of safety training is required?
We have multiple courses through our online training center ( KPA ) that every technician needs to complete when hired and maintain as they need to be renewed.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Hands on learning is one of the most influential ways for one to continue to advance their skills. Having a team of experienced Audi technicians and foremans allows them to get insight and knowledge from some of the best mentors around.... their own team. We are a family run dealer and we like to treat our co-workers just the same. We are here to support eachother as a team and always find ways to learn / teach something new each day.

Shop Talk
Top Shop Challenge: We're in the middle of summer now. Does your shop have temperature control to keep the team cool? Do you do anything else to cool them down?
Both sides of our Audi shops have multiple large ceiling fans that run throughout the day in order to keep the shop cool. On hot days, we will also close the bay doors in order to keep the excess heat out.
Top Shop Challenge: Training is a hot topic for technicians looking for a good shop to work at. Talk about the training you provide your techs or highlight some individuals who recently completed training or earned certifications.
Furthering your training is something that we emphasize at Audi Beaverton. We send our technicians to training at least once a year, but often more than that. This training is out of state, and is done through the manufacturer, so it will further your progress in becoming a master tech!
