4 heating zones, big exhaust fan, exhaust extraction system and lots of insulation means we stay comfortable year round.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

2 techs currently, but 4 techs is the goal with a lube technician 2 Service Advisor's 1 Service Manager 1 Office Manager

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

7:30-5:30 (Monday-Friday) NO WEEKENDS!!!!

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Diagnostic equipment, specialty tools, parts washer, tablets and laptops provided to technicians. We are always adding to our tooling collection in order to make jobs faster and easier.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, table, chairs

How many bays does your shop have?

8 bays with lifts 1 flat stall 1 alignment drive on rack

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Booking out about a month.

What is your parts ordering process?

Techs provide parts description and labor description list to the service advisor who then places the order. Some basic parts we keep on hand, but the majority will need to be ordered. We will receive parts as soon as possible.

What is your policy on side work?

Based on approval, employee's part's are purchased at cost.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

The business itself has been in our local community since 1984. We took ownership of the shop about a month ago. Since then we are really looking to create a new culture and family friendly work environment. Here, no one is a number they are apart of our team.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We highly encourage continued education. Advancing a technicians career not only benefits the technician but us as a business as well. We will cover the cost of our technicians trainings and certifications.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

There is always room for growth and movement in our company. We can help set a career path so that our technicians hit the goals they are looking to achieve. Through trainings, certifications, and some in house mentoring we are willing to help anywhere we can.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We run both 90 day, and annual reviews. We look at things like the technicians performance, advanced training for them, and just a general overall feeling from them how things are going. Yearly pay is also discussed during review.

What type of safety training is required?

We offer safety training through the shop on equipment and shop safety.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

The owner will mentor junior technicians when time permits. This will include side-by-side work on repairs, and answering any further questions.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Not currently. We just moved to the community in the last month but will look to get involved in the near future.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Not currently, but again it's something we will look to do in the future. We have brought interns in to work with us in the past.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

With just taking over the shop we are trying to get things as organized and streamlined as we can. This includes getting as much as we can paperless and through one work system. Our shop has a great local following so building upon that is something we will strive for as well.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

No formal application, decisions are usually made off candidates resume.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

This depends on where the candidate is located. If they are to far away we will do a light phone screen involving information about their experience, and personality. We will also make sure that our core values are aligned.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Both owners take part in the interview. Discussion includes technical skills, their years in the industry, certifications, and what they do and do not enjoy doing.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Not currently

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No formal assessment. We will oversee the technician for their first week on the job to make sure they don't have any additional questions, and are comfortable with the repairs being made.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

48 hours

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

We will get technicians in here as soon as possible. Some of it will depend on their two week notice and what their schedule looks like.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $62,400 - $104,000/year ($30.00 - $50.00/hr)

Hourly paid position PLUS production pay incentive up to an extra $5 per billed hour - We also have a monthly team bonus Based on certifications and experience Relocation assistance for qualified candidate

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $45,000 - $62,400/year ($21.63 - $30.00/hr)

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $37,000 - $45,000/year ($17.79 - $21.63/hr)

Hourly paid position

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $41,600 - $62,400/year ($20.00 - $30.00/hr)

Hourly paid position PLUS montly team bonus

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $16 - $18/hour

Service Advisor Assistant Pay Range: $37,440 - $45,760/year ($18.00 - $22.00/hr)
