What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop hours 7:00am-7:00pm (Monday-Friday), and 7:00am-5:00pm (Saturday) Shift times are: 7:00am-4:00pm, 8:00am-5:00pm or 9:00am-6:00pm

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Specialty Honda tools, hydraulic press, on car brake lathes, ac machines, alignment rack, off car brake lathe, parts washers, inground lifts, INHonda, all data, tools provided for trainee technicians (box and Snapon tools)

What type of break room facility is provided?

2 indoor lounges and outside tables. Indoor lounges have cable and wifi. We also have vending machines and coffee machines (no charge for coffee).

What is your policy on side work?

You can work on your own vehicle off the clock during regular shop hours, as long as it's not interfering with your scheduled work time.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We provide an indoor service shop with heat and ac, we provide hydration during peak heat waves.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We offer factory paid training

What type of safety training is required?

We do monthly safety meetings as a minimum and have additional meetings when applicable

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We pair up lube techs with line techs often for those lube techs that are looking to continue in the automotive repair industry. They often assist in repairs to gain hands on knowledge. We like to make sure that they have done training modules in advance to the work that they are assisting with.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We do food drives, toy drives, support the greater hope foundation for foster care.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

No

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Fully staffed, thriving with fully Honda trained technicians. We would like to half of the line techs to be master certified within 5 years.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Online application, about5-10 minutes to fill out.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We reach out to applicants by phone first generally.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Meeting with team leader, service manager and general manager. We review any current training, certifications and experience with each applicant. Interviews vary depending on the position level being applied for.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes to background and drug.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No written tests or shop tests.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Within 72 hrs at the very most.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

7-14 days depending on the engagement of the applicant to follow the steps both quickly and accurately.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

We have a thorough process from start to finish (onboarding). We do this so the new employee is comfortable and ready on day one. We like everyone to feel welcome and as a part of the family.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $31.00 - $37.00/hour

At this level you can be expected to be fully able to complete the following: Repair brake and steering systems. Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems. Replace or repair transmissions and fuel components as needed. Repair cooling components and systems including air conditioners and engine cooling. Perform emissions inspections, safety checks and similar state-regulated vehicle examinations. Be 100% Honda Certified through the Honda IN website Maintain a clean, safe working environment. Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed. Possess a valid state driver’s license for conducting test drives.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $25.00 - $28.00/hour

At this level you should be able to complete the following: Complete full inspection and vehicle health evaluation Diagnose trouble codes using the Honda provided flow charts Complete factory recalls Complete all maintenance needs on all Hondas Be 100% Honda Certified through the Honda IN website Maintain and clean and safe work environment Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed. Possess a valid state driver’s license for conducting test drives.

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $18.00 - $24.00/hour

At this level you should be able to complete the following: Complete full inspection and vehicle health evaluation Complete factory recalls Complete minor maintenance needs on all Hondas Be 100% Honda Certified through the Honda IN website Maintain and clean and safe work environment Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed. Possess a valid state driver’s license for conducting test drives.

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $15.00 - $17.00/hour

At this level you should be able to complete the following: Complete full inspection and vehicle health evaluation Complete minor maintenance needs on all Hondas, oil and filter change, filters, ect. Be 100% Honda Certified through the Honda IN website for express technicians Maintain and clean and safe work environment Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed. Possess a valid state driver’s license for conducting test drives.

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00/year

As a Service Advisor you should be able to complete the following: Greet customers within 2-4 minutes of them driving into the service drive. Complete a walk around with the customer to go over damages and additional needs Advise customers on required needs as well as dealer recommended maintenance Actively listen to the customers concerns to be able to provide the technicians with enough information to be able to fix the vehicle right the first visit Keep gross sales above average Keep customers updated twice per day on the vehicle status Go over customer multi point health inspection with the customer before, during, and after the service Explain all charges and notes on the customers invoice. Set next service appointment for the customer before leaving Explain the Honda survey the customer will be receiving to them Walk the customer to their vehicle once pulled up for the active delivery Follow up with the customer the next day to verify they are happy with their service experience Maintain customer service scores above Honda zone scores Maintain and clean and safe work environment Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed. Possess a valid state driver’s license.
