The team consists of 7 technicians

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Our shop is open 24hrs per day. - 8am-4:30pm - 2pm-10:30pm - 10:00pm-6:30am

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The shop provides some specialized and some larger tools, technicians will have to provide their own hand tools

What type of break room facility is provided?

Recently renovated space with seating for up to 20 guests. Includes a refrigerator, microwave, and TV.

How many bays does your shop have?

Our shop has 2 bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

On average our shop does 120-165 repairs

What is your parts ordering process?

Parts ordering is generated from Maximo. Parts will be received as soon as possible for technicians to complete repairs

What is your policy on side work?

You may work other jobs in addition to your employment with the Company, including if you are on temporary layoff status. You may not work an additional job if you are taking leave under the Company’s Family, Medical and Personal Leaves of Absence Policy. To ensure you are available to perform your assigned position duties and to avoid issues of conflict of interest (see the Company’s Conflicts of Interest Policy) and non-compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT), and Federal Motor Carrier Regulations, you must be selective when choosing secondary employment. We have multiple levels of technician (associate, intermediate, senior) that employees can advance through as well as specialized reefer technician, fleet manager, and corporate roles. US Foods has over 70 DCs in the US with about 45 of them having internal fleet maintenance teams.

There is a mid-year and annual performance review.

What type of safety training is required?

At US Foods, safety is our top priority. We have dedicated local and corporate safety teams, provide safety e-learning resources, and continuously improve our safety processes. Safety training starts from day one during onboarding.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Junior technicians are paired with experienced senior technicians, who review and verify all work before it’s released

In person interviews are conducted by a hiring manager to assess skill set and fit for the role/team.

After an offer is extended, candidate completes a background check. Background screenings are dependent on the role. Employment verification is required.

Fleet Mechanic/Diesel Technician Pay Range: $28.00 - $40.00/hour

The pay for this position will be $28.00-$40.00 depending on experience

Reefer Technician Pay Range: $28.00 - $40.00/hour

Paid Holidays Offered
If you are a regular full-time associate (defined as regularly scheduled every week for at least 30 hours each week), you get 6 days of Holiday pay related to the following Company holidays: •New Year’s Day •Memorial Day •Independence Day •Labor Day •Thanksgiving Day •Christmas Day Unless otherwise required by state or local law, non-exempt associates will receive 8 hours of holiday pay for each Company holiday regardless of the associate's workweek schedule.
ST / LT Disability Offered
Short Term Disability: 60% of pay (Hourly) for days 8-180 if you are off work due to illness or injury Long Term Disability: Open to purchase coverage to continue percentage of your base salary beyond short-term disability
