Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is heated with in-floor heat and forced air backup. There is no air conditioning.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Our team currently has 9 technicians, 3 service advisors, 1 service assistant, and 3 parts advisors. We are currently looking to expand our technician team.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We have two main shifts: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The shop hours are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

All required Ford essential tools and diagnostic equipment are available for technicians to use.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have an air-conditioned break room with vending machines, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee pot.

How many bays does your shop have?

We have 16 bays plus an alignment rack and a heavy-duty lift for large trucks.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We average between 800 and 1300 repair orders per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

Our parts ordering process is as follows: Technicians diagnose the vehicles and take findings to the parts department. The Parts Advisors will order Warranty parts immediately. Customer-paid parts will be taken to the service advisors, who will gain customer approval and then coordinate with the parts department to get parts ordered.

What is your policy on side work?

We expect a transparent discussion on all potential side work. Whether the side work will be approved will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we provide all training required to maintain and achieve OEM certifications. Occasional travel is required to attend training. All expenses will be covered by the dealer.

We utilize a yearly performance review process alongside efforts to recognize employees throughout the year when they do an exceptional job.

What type of safety training is required?

Normal PPE is required. No specific safety training is mandated.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We have our senior technicians work with newer and younger technicians to help them learn and advance.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We welcome high school students for job shadows, sponsor trade school students interested in the ASSET program, support many community and school development projects, and play an active role in participating in the community.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We welcome high school students for job shadows and sponsor trade school students interested in the ASSET program. Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We do not phone screen applicants prior to in-person interviews. We do offer phone interview when face-to-face meetings are not possible, but prefer to interview in person.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our initial interview is designed to help us get to know you better as an individual, in addition to exploring your experiences, skills, and aspirations. Our second interview is a chance for our owner to personally get to meet you, gaining an understanding of who you are while also sharing information about our dealership's history, culture, and values.

The full hiring process will take anywhere from one to two weeks following the submission of the application to the time of the hiring decision. If we expect the process to extend beyond this timeframe, we will let you know.

C Level Technician Pay Range: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00/year

Student Tech / Apprentice Pay Range: $25,000.00 - $32,000.00/year

Collision Technician - A Level Pay Range: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00/year

Collision Technician - B Level Pay Range: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00/year

Collision Painter Pay Range: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00/year

Health Insurance Offered
Health insurance coverage is provided by United Health Care to all full-time employees aged 18 and above. As part of our commitment to employee well-being, Ulrich Ford Lincoln contributes $420 towards the monthly premium for all eligible employees, regardless of the specific plan selected. Employees have a variety of coverage options to choose from, including plans for the subscriber only, subscriber and spouse, subscriber and children, as well as family coverage.

Retirement Plan Offered
We provide a 401(k) plan to all full-time employees aged 21 and older starting from the first day of the quarter after they are hired. Moreover, once an employee completes one year of service with at least 1,000 hours worked, Ulrich Ford Lincoln offers a matching program! We match 50% of the first 2% of pay deferred, and an additional 100% of the next 1% of pay deferred. For example, if you make $100 in a paycheck and choose to contribute $30 to your 401(k), you would receive a match of $20 from Ulrich Ford Lincoln ($10 for the first 2% of your pay deferred, and another $10 for the next 1% of your pay deferred).
