Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Our shop is heated and each bay has its own door

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

The service team is about 13 people. The Techs range from entry-level to Senior Master

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Our Techs work from 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday with an hour for lunch

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We have a full complement of Ford Special tools. Ford IDF, Tech laptops, Hunter alignment Hunter Road force balancer, State emissions system, lifts, heavy truck lifts, and much more

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a tech-changing area

How many bays does your shop have?

All total we have 14 Bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

we typically write about 280 ROs per month

What is your parts ordering process?

Parts are ordered at the Parts Tech counter from one of our two parts people

What is your policy on side work?

All Service vehicles in the shop must have a repair order written. Arrangements can be made with the Service Manager to do maintenance and repairs on employees' personal vehicles

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Ford Motor Company and Tyrone Ford partner up to get and keep our Techs trained to the highest levels. This includes online as well as classroom training. We participate in Ford's Top Tech program to reward Techs for training and dealership longevity.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

As positions become available we look to promote from within before looking outside the company.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We review new employees at 90 days and then periodically review for performance and training.

What type of safety training is required?

Safety Training is part of the Ford training and new hires also get OHSA training.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

As a small shop, our Senior Master Tech works closely with the younger techs to help advance their learning and career advancement.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We sponsor some of our local teams and community events.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work with the local vo-tech programs to bring in students who want to have a career in the automotive field. We also sponsor one of our new techs for PAAs tool grant program.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We typically do a short phone screen to determine baseline qualifications

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our in-person interviews are an informal process, usually with the Dealer Principal and or GM and the Service Manager. We will talk about the applicant's prior training, experience as well as future goals of the shop as well as the applicant.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We will do a background check and a driver's license check.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We do not have a formal skill assessment prior to hire

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

We Usually make a decision within 48 hours of an interview.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

This is usually completed in less then a week if the applicant is available to meet with us.

Flat-Rate Technician Pay Range: $20.00 - $38.00/hour

This is base pay for a flat-rate tech. Pay will be based on background, certifications, and skill set. We also offer performance bonuses
