What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
Technicians are paid on individual flagged hours not team structure. Most work is done individually but other technicians will assist when needed and time permits. We currently have 25 technicians with mixed levels of qualifications.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Monday - Friday 7:00am - 6:00pm Saturday 7:00am - 3:00pm Shifts can vary based on business needs
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Toyota of Braintree offers all Specialty Tools for shop usage. We also offer entry level tools for Hourly Technicians however all Technicians are encouraged to create their own supply of tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Toyota of Braintree offers a lunchroom off the shop and a snack bar where lunch can be purchased.
How many bays does your shop have?
How many repair orders do you average per month?
What is your parts ordering process?
Technicians order parts with Parts Back Counter located right off the main shop or thru our electronic multi point inspection tool.. All parts will be received as soon as possible with most coming over night.
What is your policy on side work?
Service Manager must review and approve all side work. Immediate family onlRepair orders will be generated for tarcking purposes.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
We have a great culture with multiple long term employees.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Reimbursement for ASEs. Paid training for certifications and online testing.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We ask all Technicians to continue their education, be it recertifying current certs or taking new certs. Our goal is to continue growth and get all technicians to Master certification

What type of safety training is required?
In shop training using OSHA guidelines.

Mentoring available from our shop forman and Toyota Express maintenance team members.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
Toyota of Braintree has been and continues to give back to their community by supporting local charities and schools.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Active in the Toyota T-Ten advisory board and the Toyota TECS high School program.
Where do you see the shop in five years?
Toyota way of doing things are kaizen (the philosophy of continuous improvement) and respect and empowerment for people, particularly our workers.
Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?
Yes. I takes about 10 minutes to complete.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, our Service Manager/Drive Manager will call each applicant to determine qualifiers before scheduling an in-person interview.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Conversations regarding the position with the Service Manager, background in the industry and future goals discussed. A walk of our shop and dealership.

Motor Vehicle Report ,Background Check, and Drug Screening required.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

This can vary depending on the timing and applicant count

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $80,000 - $130,000/year
Toyota Master Technician Flat Rate Pay, heavily based on certifications and background. Your rate will be based on experience, ASEs, certifications, and tenure
B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $70,000 - $100,000/year
Toyota Certified Technician working towards Master. Flat Rate Pay, heavily based on certifications and background Your rate will be based on experience, ASEs, certifications, and tenure
C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $85,000/year
Experienced Technicain working towards certification Flat Rate Pay, heavily based on certifications and background Your rate will be based on experience, ASEs, certifications, and tenure
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $30,000 - $50,000/year
Hourly wage with performance spiffs. From the Hourly position we look to grow you to a Flat Rate Technician and have mentorships in place to assist with this transition.
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year
Toyota of Braintree is hiring an experienced automotive service advisor. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE ADVISOR: Greet customers promptly Obtain customer and vehicle information Clearly report all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer Determine and recommend needed maintenance base on age, mileage and history of vehicle Prepare a complete and accurate estimate of cost for labor and parts Establish follow up time Monitor the progress of each vehicle throughout the day, and updating customers frequently Verify that the final invoice reconciles with the work performed on the car repair order Explain all completed work and charges to customer REQUIREMENTS OF THE EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE ADVISOR: Proven record of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction Past experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Assistant Lane Manager or Service Consultant Friendly and enthusiastic attitude Must be able to work in a fast pace environment A desire for a long term career with a growing organization Personal and professional integrity CDK computer experience a plus
