Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
The shop does have heating. We currently do not have air conditioning, but we do have an ample amount of roof-mounted fans and airflow through the shop.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
We have 2 main shop service advisors, a dedicated express lane advisor, and a dedicated used car advisor as well as 17 technicians.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Our service department is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 6:00 pm and we are closed Saturdays.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We provide General Motors special tools as well as an Autel Diagnostic Scanner to be used for non-GM vehicles.
What type of break room facility is provided?
We have a communal break room that is shared with sales.
How many bays does your shop have?
We have 26 bays.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
For the first half of 2025 we have averaged 1023 total repair orders per month, 411 customer pay/service contracts, 268 warranty, and 450 internal.
What is your parts ordering process?
Once the job is approved, parts will place the order. If parts are in stock, they will bring the parts out to the technician; if parts are not in stock, they will update the advisor and technician. Once the parts arrive, they send the advisor a notice through Xtime with a special order update to let the advisor know that the parts have arrived. If the vehicle is still here, they will bring the parts out to the technician.
What is your policy on side work?
We do not allow side work during normal business hours.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
We are closed on the weekend.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We offer online training through GM, along with hands-on training with our trained technicians.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We are always expanding and have a need for new positions to be filled. Through hard work and goal setting, our team can achieve all of their career goals
Can you describe your performance review process?
Individual performance reviews are conducted one time per year with monthly progress checks.
What type of safety training is required?
We do online safety training through KPA.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We have many GM certified techs that are willing to help and mentor. They will be available to answer questions and work through repairs when time permits
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We are active in fundraising and supporting many local causes.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We have spoken at many of the trade schools and high schools about the trade.
Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?
All associates are expected to participate in a culture of continuous improvement and self-improvement.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, we like to communicate beforehand to make sure we are on the same page with goals and expectations.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
We like to get to know the applicant, do a facility tour, discuss goals, and discuss qualifications.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
We do background and motor vehicle record checks.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
No formal skill assessment but all hires are done on a trial basis to confirm ability.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
3-5 business days.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
Approximately 1 week although times may vary depending on background check.
Experienced Automotive Technicians
Pay Range: $30.00 - $50.00/hour
Our technicians are paid weekly off of hours turned and their flat rate is determined by their certifications and skill sets with additional bonus opportunities based on their productivity.
Entry Level Automotive Technicians
Pay Range: $15.00 - $30.00/hour
