Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Our shop is heated with radiant heat - no cold floors. Summer we have a Bad Ass Evap Cooler to help combat summer heat.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
We are open 7.00am - 6.00pm M-F, Saturday 7.00am - 2.00pm Technician shifts are 8:00am - 5:00 pm M-F Saturday 8.00 am-1.00pm - rotating
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We have multiple diagnostic OE scan tools available for all technicians. Have Hunter Alignment Machine- Hawkeye .We also have all the common shop equipment including refrigerant machines (R134a and R1234yf), brake fluid flushing machine, drivetrain fluid extractor/filler, power steering flush machine, coolant flushing machine, coolant extraction machine, oxy-acetylene torch, mig welder, parts washer. We also have Hunter Roadforce Balancers and Coat Rim Clamp Tire Machines.
What type of break room facility is provided?
We do have a dedicated break room. The shop also has a large fridge, a microwave, and a small toaster oven.
How many bays does your shop have?
We have 11 bays - The shop is 10,000 sq ft.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
250-300
What is your parts ordering process?
We use the Mitchell operating system. The technician inspects the vehicle, writes the job and labor, and includes parts requests. The service advisors source and estimate the parts and sell all the work.
What is your policy on side work?
We do not have one other than not at the shop and all of our techs make really good money and no longer want to do side work. You can work on your own stuff at the shop.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We will pay for training classes. We offer training through various vendors such as AcDelco programs,Goodyear Tire& Service Network,Autowares,Napa Auto Care,Autozone and Advanced Auto.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
As an independent repair shop, employees have the opportunity to learn and grow as technicians. One of our A techs started with us pumping gas at 16 years old and has been with us for over 35 years!
Can you describe your performance review process?
Our software continually monitors performance, not to punish our employees. It is meant to help you identify and improve. Occasionally management will review the information and address any issues.
What type of safety training is required?
We like our technicians to have hazard material knowledge, and location of safety, medical, and fire equipment at the facility. We keep our shop clean and equipment up to date.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We like to see experienced techs teach/guide apprentice technicians. Lead technicians will give apprentice techs tasks during the repair process. The lead tech will watch over and offer guidance while the apprentice completes the task. Cleaning and organizing parts is also useful in helping the senior tech.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We are always looking for ways to grow and support our community. We try to give back and support our customers and the charities that are near and dear to them.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We hire Co-op students from the local High Schools Auto Shop programs. We have in the past worked with the Macomb Community College Auto program.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
In-person interviews are preferred, but accommodations for schedule or location can be made.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
I try to get to know the applicant by understanding their strengths and weaknesses. I like to ask what they liked and disliked about their previous job.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
We do background checks.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
We will ask applicable questions to determine skill level.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
After an in-person interview, hiring decisions are generally made within one week.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
Approximately one week.
A Level Technician
Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $150,000.00/year
Flat rate, paid weekly, other compensation may be discussed based on the candidate
B level Tech
Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00/year
